    I think I need help!!

I know sw works, I've lost over 2 stone for goodness sake. But I just can't get into it. :(

Was thinking the warmer weather would pave the way for healthier eating of salads and more fruit but it hasn't.

Last night I gorged like a monster, I had 2 lots of melted cheese, 2 bags of crisps, half a bag of popcorn and a chocolate muffin. This was after a healthy tea of homemade pizza and loads of salad - what is wrong with me.

I've shared this all with you so I can be ashamed when I read back.

I've started off today with a positive mind set, went for a 30 min walk and have my meals all planned out for the day. It's just come evening time I turn into this food craved psycho and would probably try eating the furniture if it happened that the fridge was empty :(

Can anyone advise? As you can probably tell I am desperate.

I'm with you on this one... I'm a total emotional eater. If I feel completely full to bursting sometimes I'll still eat sugary food to stop the low mood even if it's for a few minutes. I eat without thinking all the time. By doing this for the past year, I've gained 4 stone and a lot of stretchmarks :( I keep thinking it will take forever to lose 4 stone, but seeing some of you losing a stone in 4-6 weeks it gives me hope that it'll take me months rather than years to get to a happy weight.

Today is day 1 back on the SW waggon; I've had a really emotionally messy day so I think I managed OK. Usually I'd have eaten about 4000 kcal by this time, and like you Becks my worst time is the evening. I know I have a lot on my snacks section but at the moment I'm just thinking at least its better than chocolate. I've only managed to stop myself eating bad food because I had healthier stuff available, I fully admit that if the only thing in the fridge had been chocolate I'd have eaten it.

    Anyway... it's a green day.

B: Weetabix (HEB), skimmed milk (HEA), banana
L: Pasta N Sauce Cheese & Broccoli (1 syn, milk from HEA)
D: Sweet potato wedges, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots
Snacks: 2 Alpen light (HEB), loads of grapes & strawberries, 2 Asda mini bubbly bars (4 syns), 1 ww yoghurt, banana

I bought a lolly maker today. I took 4 ww yogurts and put the contents into the lolly maker (1 yogurt pot fills 2 lollies). 2 hours later and hey presto I have 0 syn mini milks :rotfl: take a while to eat too so that stops any other food passing my lips!!

Well done to everyone that has lost this week and hoping the disappointed few will be rewarded at next WI.

Becks I know exactly where you're coming from. A few questions -

    - do you eat a snack in the afternoon and if so what time and how long before dinner? I have lunch at 12.30 and then nothing until tea at around 6pm (I'm far too busy to snack or eat anything at this time)

    - are you drinking water throughout the day? At work from 8am-1pm I probably have around 1 litre of water, when I get home I have Pepsi Max :o yes fell off that wagon too!!!

    - what do you eat in the evening? I always attempt to have a healthy meal that follows sw 1/3 rule so tonight was chilli with salad, last night home made pizza with salad

I found that if I eat a sandwich (HEB) in the afternoon about 4/4.30 then that fills me up before supper and when I get to supper I'm hungry but not starving.

If supper is high carbs then I find that I'm craving more food later in the evening so I try and have a huge bowl of soup to start and then just a small piece of chicken or something and a lot of stir-fried veggies with it. That is usually enough to keep me full and satisfied through the evening. If I feel that I want to have anything else then it's usually an Options which feels naughty!

I've also found that on the days that I don't drink enough water I'm much hungrier so aim to drink between 1.5-2 litres every day.

    HTH - good luck

Thank you for your kind words, I read this thread all the time with good intentions to get back on the wagon but am struggling so badly at the moment.

So far I have been good this evening, I've started chewing gum to keep my mouth busy and plan to come on here to keep my fingers busy - I feel like such a sad case. But I really do think I am addicted to food :(

Becks i'm a comfort eater so I always have a curlywurly in the fridge. They take ages to eat when they've been in the fridge & they are only 6 syns.
I save mine for late evening as I know that is my tricky time.
I also have an Option when the weather is cooler to take away the chocolate craving.

This sounds like classic emotional eating to me. You know you're not hungry because you just had pizza and salad. Is there something that's bothering you that you'd rather not think about? Have you tried Paul McKenna's method of trying to disassociate your head from your tummy and just concentrate on your tummy and how it's feeling. Even as you're standing at the fridge, or are making the melted cheese. How full/empty is my tummy on a scale of 1-10 where 1 is completely-starving-about-to-faint, and 10 is utterly-stuffed-about-to-burst? You shouldn't be eating until about 3 or 4. If you're full but still want to eat, it has to be an emotional crutch. Try to figure out what's causing it - lonely? Argument? Work avoiding? - and then either solve the problem, or if it's not that easy, do something different as a crutch that doesn't involved food. Have a bath, like they always suggest - stupid but it does work. Go for a walk. Play an absorbing game on your phone, anything.

I speak from many years of battling this very problem!

Thank you both :grouphug: YES I think I am emotional eater, I've recently become single (well 11 weeks ago) and am bringing up my 2DD's on my own with no support from the ex - I don't even know where he is!! My girls are angels and are really well behaved so it's not them driving me to eat lots but I do like to treat myself with food when they go to bed. :(

Reading what I have just written, I think I need to find other ways to make myself feel happier. I don't think I'm depressed but I know I use food to make myself feel better in the short term and I have to stop. It's approaching 9pm which is the usual time I start to crave food so I will stop this right now and learn some self control.

It is nice to know I'm not alone, and other people have been where I am. So thank you again xx

    Evening all

Please can I join this fab thread, I did SW online and fell off the waggon. I have all the info and REALLY want to lose some weight. I always seem to stuff my face in the evening. I want to lose weight so I can buy clothes that I like rather than what fits. Most importantly I want to be able to keep up with my 7 year old.
    Cheers

Hello, Is there room for one more in here ? I've been doing slimming world a while now and know that it works when I stick to it properly - but that's the problem at the moment I'm struggling! However I've got a holiday in 9 weeks so going to use this as motivation, ideally I'd like to lose a stone by then but following a 3lb gain tonight it seems like a long way off!

Welcome ! You've made the first step by coming on here, there's loads of tips and encouragement. You can do the stone if you get on the plan and stay on it. Just think how good you'll feel on your hols!!!

oh dear. Browsing the holiday snaps tonight from the weekend and well I don't like any of the photos of me. Funny how I know I have put the weight back on (because my clothes don't fit) but how horrible it is to actually see how I look :( its so different to looking in a mirror.

I'm back on plan today after 2 days of utter crap while in hospital with DD. We got out yesterday afternoon and she is on the mend but still not feeling great.

Currently having 2 x weetabix, yoghurt and an apple with a cup of tea.

Lunch will be soup and dinner pasta. Not had a chance to read all the post, hope everyone is ok.

So glad DD is out of hospital and on the mend. All the best to you both. X
