Started back at SW last night and already have questions if someone has got time please - I am doing Extra Easy by the way.
Flora Cuisine says on the bottle 95 cals per 15 mls. How many syns would that be please.
Can anybody recommend some nice yoghourts other than Muller. I just can't stand them although I love yoghourt. I can just about manage one if I mix it with jelly and make a mousse.
I am planning to make a SW curry tomorrow night and see that Rice is free. But surely there must be a limit on how much? I will also do a big salad with it. (I still think Red and Green).0 -

Congrats on the new job. I was just saying to my DH last night that I would probably find this so much easier if I worked out of the house and had to plan when I take to work every day.Mediterranean Mum

Just tried to access that link but I can't see it from here - I think Channel 4 is only available in the UK. :mad:Mediterranean Mum

I watched that last night, very interesting. I know I am guilty of the mindless snacking, it's only now I am keeping a food diary that I realised how much I was eating. It amazes me how people can keep a food diary and miss things off. I don't think they were cheating, they genuinely didn't realise what they had eaten.Slimming World Target Achieved 13/09/12!0 -

theres a few free tv websites on the net, you might be able to find it on one of those if you google it.
its main points were:- adding sauces/dressings can really ramp up calories
- portion sizes of "healthy" foods can still be far too much for one sitting
- the odd sweet/biscuit here and there that we forget we had really adds up over a whole week of doing it
- eating food from other peoples plates and their leftovers (or magpie eating as they called it) adds on much more over a week
- "chop and pop" where as you cook, you chop something then eat a bit, like grate cheese, steal a bit, taste meat to see if it is ok before plating up then try another to see if that one is too etc can add on a large amount.
- diet fizzy drinks can actually make you snack as your body expects sugar and so you get a craving to go off and find the food it was expecting in the first place (one boy was getting through a horrific amount, bottles and bottles in a day and each time he drank it, he went and got a snack afterwards)
- keeping food in opaque containers and/or hidden away has been shown to curb snacking - if you can see it, you want it. they also saw people eat less sweets when they were stored a walk away from them than if they were kept right next to them.
- booze adds on a horrific amount of calories
- if you have a vending machine and snacks at work that tempts you, it said to take healthy snacks in like fruit and nuts and leave all your spare change at home.
- they did an experiment that showed if you snack, you eat less if you force yourself to use your non dominant hand because you are forced to think more about what you are doing, not just mindless hand to mouth
I watched that last night, very interesting. I know I am guilty of the mindless snacking, it's only now I am keeping a food diary that I realised how much I was eating. i think its because we don't see small things as making that much of a difference as opposed to what we see as the "meals" we eat. its kind of like, what harm can one sweet do? its only one bag of crisps as a snack, its only one chocolate bar etc.
it showed just how important portion sizes were too, even for healthy foods, like the girl that had 10 roast potatoes that was 1000 calories alone.
did you see last weeks? the girl had a blowout weekend and got through over 7000 calories in booze and food :eek:0
