ignore this ladies, my comp is playing up apparently :s

    hey ladies!!!

well WI on thurs was successful thankfully! i lost 2.5lbs (well 2 if you dont include the 1/2lb i had on the week before) so im now 12st 6 :D

had a busy weekend with a family wedding and a heavy night out with friends, so have a lot of making up to do. this thurs though i wont be able to make WI as family have surprised us from australia and thurs is the only day they can meet up. which is where i need your help lol.

we are all meeting at my aunts house, and everyone is bringing a dish so we have kind of like a buffet, but i dont know what to make. my aunt is making my favourite food but its not too SW friendly (chicken and brocolli bake - but it has tinned soup etc in it) cousins are making 'beef and beans,' cheesecake etc...

i would love to make something yummy but im stuck on ideas as it needs to be able to travel and be heated in an oven when i get there. any suggestions?
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

  • Thanks girls. Feeling really delicate and tearful. It really puts life into perspective doesn't it - here am I worried about whether I've put an effing pound on and there's this little girl who's lost her parents and all her brothers and sisters in an flash - life is so bloody cruel.

    Hi All

I am a kind of SW newbie, I have done it twice before, the most recent was last year. I had to stop when I got made redundant and couldn't afford classes, then moved to a completely new city for a perfect job. Still can't afford classes as I am running two houses at the moment, but need to get back on track as I have put on everything I had spent 8 months losing.

I now have about 2.5 stone to lose before I am happy, and the initial half will make a huge difference as I am not fitting in my clothes too well at the moment.

I will mostly be having green days as we only have tiny portions of meat to keep the costs down each week.

Any help and support is welcomed, need people to keep me on track.

Incidentally, does anyone know the syns in a Peanut butter kitkat chunky? Saw one in the shop this morning and had to stop it jumping in to my basket!:rotfl:

Life sucks at the moment. I've heard so many terrible things this week and I'm feeling really down -

    1. Friend who lives in NZ has found out her daughter in London has been diagnosed at 22 years old with lung cancer.

    2. There was a horrific car crash on the news last night - brakes failed on the car carrying a whole family - 8 people killed - turns out the mother was the sister of my neighbour - the only survivor was a 7 year old daughter

    3. Just heard this morning of another friend who has just been diagnosed with testicular cancer

Life really is a !!!!! and I'm exhausted from the tension of it all.

Sorry just had to sound off!

Sorry to hear this MM - life really is a b*tch sometimes :(
Yeah I think Ill take a trip to aldi. Also what low syn sausages do people use? And what is meat free mince like?

Last week we tried Tesco Light Choices Cumberland sausages at 1 syn each and they were surprisingly nice- my bro (a meat fiend) couldn't tell the difference between those and normal ones. They're not cheap but were on 2 packs for £3. We also have some Joe's sausages (free) in the freezer and they are great but pretty expensive. Also like the Linda Mc ones but haven't tried the rosemary and onion ones, will have to look out for those.

When I wasn't dieting I used to use soya mince a lot as it has much more flavour than Quorn mice, and have recently discovered that it is free (well the one I use, Asda frozen meat free mince, is). I usually do half extra lean mince and half Quorn mince for spag bol etc and OH can't tell that there's Quorn in it ;)

  • Gotta get my head back into gear -

Someone asked about meat-free mince (forgive me for not paying attention to names today!). I personally love it and have used it in lasagne and chilli. I've added the same amount of seasoning as I would have done to mince meat and it tastes just as good. Maybe it depends on the make - the only one I can get here is Tivol which I think is also available in the UK.

If you cook it down like mincemeat there is no fat to drain off it so it must definitely be healthier.
