You'll get the books when you join so don't worry about that. You also get access to the online stuff too.

I was the same as you! I tried WW online for 3 months and I cheated so much as it was only me who knew the weight. Going to classes certainly helps!

getting ready for 3 days of express - have made big pan of minestrone and ratatoille for lunches, brisket for dinner which will have with a small jacket and green beans, runner beans and cabbage. Breakfast was oat pancakes with a huge mound of strawbs, rasps and banana. Snacks will be fruit or veg sticks

The oat pancakes sound a nice change from porridge! Do you have a link to recipe, thanks.

I really dont want to turn up wed morning to be weighed 1st week and not to have lost anything. Does anyone have any tips - now off to read first post / my books again and website. I am really glad i have found you lot as you seem to know whats going on. 3 days til weigh in :(

Hi SLM - it's very confusing at the beginning and it certainly took me a couple of weeks until I understood what I was doing.

I would definitely suggest that you sit down and read the books and then use the food lists to sit and work out a daily meal plan. If you've got questions about any of the foods let us know and once you've drawn up your plan post it here so that one of the very knowledgeable ladies can check it for you - good luck

read all the books again from start to finish. start with the plan first. it might help if you have the "7 days 7 ways" open at page 4 and 5 next to you, it has a diagram of where things fit in if just the bullet points in the book are a bit too confusing. its also in proportion to the amounts they should be in your diet so you have a visual reference of 1/3 SF to 2/3 free plus HE and syns.

unless you are veggie, completely ignore the G and R plans, you will only get yourself more confused. if you are veggie, ignore everything EE and red and start with page 28 on the Green plan.

then read the "choose success" one. that one has tips and will answer some popular FAQs for you.

i found it helped to sit down with a pen and paper and write down all my favourite meals and the things i found myself eating all the time. then look through the book and find out exactly what they would be on SW. are they super free, free, HE (and if so, how much is a HE portion?) or syned? if they have syns, could you change it to be low syn or syn free (omit butter/oil, HE cheese or milk etc)? if you start with what you already eat, you may find you have things in there you can carry on eating on plan already so you will be some of the way there to having your SW plan all done and it won't seem such a mammoth "oh god what can i eat??" task.

unfortunately, this prob won't be a happy exercise. my first go was awful. most ready meals will be syns. alcohol, chocolate, crisps, sweets, biscuits and take away syn values will prob make you want to cry and give up at first.

with SW you have to plan, either just one day at a time or over a week if you know you are going out one night and want to save syns or do damage limitation before/after. when i do meal plans, my main meal of the day is tea, so i pick what i want for tea first and see what day it would be best on (if you understand R/G/SE and are confident doing all of them) and then if it has syns or HE in that need to be accounted for. then i know what i have to play with for the rest of the day. most HEB choices lend themselves to breakfasts or a sandwich for lunch so that could be another meal done if you haven't used a HEB for tea. then add in things like fruit/muller lights/mug shots/supernoodles as easy snacks. that should leave you with only one other meal you might have to think about, but planning one meal is much easier than trying to plan a whole day from scratch.

edit: if you are really stuck, the magazine always has a 7 day meal plan in and the "100 extra easy days" book has 100 meal plans already completely done for you, its a tiny little book that was £3.50 when i bought it. your consultant will prob have a group copy for you to have a look at if you don't want to buy it.

Thank you all so much for your help - all i really got from mu meeting was fill plate 1/3 with fruit and veg then you can pretty much eat what you like for the rest (obviously not fried foods etc). Not sure if it was my understanding of it or whether it was being rushed through (did go through it very quickly)

I have just had jacket potato and beans with 30g cheese for lunch and then a pear. Is spag bol with lots of veg in it ok for dinner followed by melon.

Still makig my way through wesite and books so thanks for all of your help
