  • Hi Slack Alice, ah fair enough :-) the other thing to bear in mind is that most recipes can be made "slimming world friendly", it's just about making some adaptations to what you use.

Using fry-light rather than oil is for instance, and remember that things like boiled rice are free on EE and green days but Naan bread and poppadoms are syns.

Do you know which plan your Mum is doing (Extra Easy, Red/Green days?) as that would affect what she could have, on Red/Green days the meat or rice/potato etc need to be weighed as a portion, on EE they don't have to be but 1/3rd meal needs to be "super free" veg etc.
Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world!

Thanks for the clarification of Super Express,it sounds like you could do a day or two to compensate for a bad day!

2lb off for me. that makes 9and1/2 in total.
Can anyone please tell me what success express is , also 30 day shred I saw mentioned?

Was me who mentioned 30 day shred, its an intense 20 minute workout, consisting of 3 x 6 minute circuits of 3-2-1 (3 mins cardio, 2 strength, 1 abs) Jillian Michaels from biggest loser does the dvd, think am on day 9 now??? can feel flobbly bits toning up, I stepped up to level 2 last night, (3 levels) its hard going but we shall see if it tones me up, want that more than the weight loss, SW taking care of that.

Someone else will need to explain Success Express, I have books etc but don't attend class due to DH shifts & having littlies to collect after work HTH

OooH no !that sounds tough. I am ok about walking but rubbish at "real" exercise although think I may have persuaded a new friend from my SW class to try Zumba with me next week!

Another curry my DH loves is SW Lamb Rogan Josh, I am not a big lover of lamb myself but he absolutely swears by it, also the SW butter chicken is nice (but a little hot as it has madras in it, you could always reduce the amount you put in) I havn't tried the ordinary chicken curry from the website so can't comment.

nessie216 Thanks for the reply, will try and google that rogan josh recipe to have a look at!

lalamb That jalfrezi recipe looks really tasty, is it very spicy?

invisibleyousee I'm not actually doing slimming world, just looking for a recipe to do for my family because my mum has recently started. But I will let her know about the books if she hasn't already seen or heard about them!

It isn't spicy in my opinion, but I like hot, hot, hot! So what's hot for you might be mild for me. But I would say it's medium.

My 30 day shred dvd arrived today. :j

I did it via youtube on Sun and Monday and I loved it. I've also started the banish fat boost metabolism dvd, did it on Wed and Thurs.....having a break today because I ache all over. I prefer BFBM because it's more intense.......however, I haven't looked at level 2 of 30 day shred, I'm scared lol

Been a little AWOL recently. I got to target just over a year ago, managed to keep it up for 6 months, then went out of target range and got too busy/stressed at work to be able to keep up with the meetings and I let myself go a little since I don't have scales at home.

Sooooooo I'm rejoining on Monday! A different group to the one I went to before, I'm a little embarrassed and I found that my consultant wasn't as supportive as I needed her to be once I got to target. Very much a case of not worth her time as I wasn't paying anymore. Anyway, I think I have put on around about 3/4 stone from my target but will find out for sure on Monday.

I have also updated the SW recipe thread opening post to keep everything in check hehe.

    So hi everyone!

    Starting weight - April 2010 - 12st 1lb
    Target weight - April 2011 - 9st 0lb
    Current weight - May 2012 - ???

    Hi Losers ;)

Well, I was soooo looking forward to my Mexican Bake last night, DH asked me to send him recipe and he would have it ready for me coming in. I was gutted, I couldn’t eat it as

A – He never measured the cheese
    B – He used mature cheddar :eek::eek:
He told me just to scrape the cheese off the top, :rotfl::rotfl:no can do I said as the fat will be all the way through so he had some of it, I had a frozen quorn chicken tikka meal (1.5 syns) as at that time I couldn’t be bothered to cook.
He really doesn’t understand the concept of SW.;) On the upside, used my HEA & HEB to have roasted cheese later on :D

    So todays EE Plan

B – Berries & Melon with FF Nat yogurt
L – Jacket with tuna mayo (2 syns), salad, melon & strawberries
D – Salmon Fishcakes, Rustic Courgette & Potato cakes, large salad with HEA cheese HEB will be breadcrumbs for fishcakes
    S – Apple

    200ml skimmed milk for coffees
Total Syns for the day 4

CH27 - What awful news for you, i'm with RachBC, comfort eat things that are good for you, Green Day sounds like a plan, hope you feel better soon x

Had the same problem this week, was out on school trip wednesday so had arranged with hubby to bung loads of veg in the slow cook with passata ready for meatballs [done separately] and pasta. Came home to curry in slow cook with all my veg [not sure what else went in] plus chicken. Hubby served me a bowl of curry and rice with naan bread sticking out of the top, so just HAD to eat it didn't I? Couldn't offend him could I? :o:o:o:p
No wonder I stayed the same this week, that combined with * week I wouldn't be surprised if I had gained AGAIN
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
