a girl in work claire used to do SW and she's like 'ive told you before now, 1lb here or there doesnt make a difference,' thats grand her saying that, but she isnt the one trying to lose it lol. i know you girls understand because we're all in the same boat, but sometimes coming from someone who isnt still involved with the SW programme somehow (target or still losing) can be rather i dunno ... condescending?

Fluff - agree totally - it's fine for people on here who know what we're doing and have the same experience to give me a kick up the backside but it's not ok for "outsiders" to say a thing! Sometimes though it's also their way of justifying to themselves why they aren't still on the program/losing weight/at target and are actually quietly pleased that you aren't succeeding because it makes it OK for them too - if that makes any sense!

I am gutted - have had a good week, no booze or sweets and I've put ON 1lb - I could greet. I wouldn't mind putting on if I had been off plan or eaten all my syns but I haven't. The only thing I have done differently this week is eat my syns in a daily basis rather than save them for the weekend - I have had between 5 and 10 syns a day.

It is going to take evry ounce of will power to keep me off the wine bottle tonight!

Oh K&F I know exactly how you feel. What can I say, keep with it and it'll show next week - to me these are just words when people don't know what else to say but seriously if you've been good then the only reason for a gain would be water retention or building muscle. I actually was thinking last night that I should stop weighing in every week and only do it on the first of the month and that way it would give me a more accurate picture of what's happening and hopefully make me less obsessive about the damn scales every week and sometimes every day.

I know and that's where I am this week so please don't do as I did and get yourself into any kind of a slump about it.

That's another reason why I'm considering weighing just once a month - I just get too down if the scales don't move and then I lose my focus.

Hope you all dont mind me dropping back in, was around a while back but free time is rare at the moment and I fell off the wagon.
I'm after some advice though, OH and I are looking to get back on the SW wagon, however we simply dont have the time to get to meetings at the moment. He works mon-fri 8-5 sat 9-12, and I do a rolling shift pattern of mon-fri 8-4.30 sat 9-4, mon-fri 9-5.30 sat 9-1, mon-fri 11.30-8, and we like to go to the gym together at least 3 nights a week.
The help I'm after is some meal ideas for lunches and evening meals as when we do go to the gym it can be 8.30-9pm before we're home, so whats speedy, healthy and sw friendly to be eating that late??
    Any advice very gratefully received
    Thanks xxxxx

I'd say do batch cooking when you have time (bolognese, chill, curry, pasta sauce) then when you get in you only have to do the carbs (even a JP) and reheat your sauce of preference. I'm still in the 'old' camp that believes it's OK to have your SFs in the sauce. Other ideas are stews/casseroles in a slow cooker or a stir fry using frozen/pre-prepped veg.

mm, glad you explained that it's people who have fallen off the wagon and trying to justify themselves are the problem. I was beginning to feel a bit uncomfortable. I've been at target for 9 months but I still come on here to make sure I stick with SW. I definitely don't want to revert to old ways. But I hope I don't come across as patronising or condescending. If I have, I apologise.

I have great sympathy (and empathy) with you obsessing about food. I find if it works for me if I've got a nice SW meal planned (like a roast as I know it'll be yummy but also packed with SFs or a 'pub' style meal of a gammon steak or HM burgers with chips and mushrooms, peas and tomatoes) then I can think about that!;)

Welcome back Lizzie - there is a great recipe link on the first page here and there are some great recipes there. The other place that has some good ideas is https://www.slimmingeats.com and of course on the SW site itself - you don't have to be a member to access some of the stuff.

Other than that there are loads of us here who don't attend meetings but you'll get no better support than from everyone who's on the board here - good luck and keep us posted.
