I have just been on the SW website and read the story of Ivy Beensogood ( or somehting like that) I found it under Strategies I think ,it shows how many extra syns we can consume without realising. Quite a wake up call!
Read what Ivy did and ate all day and then read the breakdown.
Actually for anyone who wants to find it, it is buried quite deep in the site.
Go to Useful features, then staregies, then Myths and misconceptions busted and it is a link to Ivys story way down at the bottom of that page.

Gettingthere and Piglet - seriously jealous but sooooo proud of you both and please please please don't leave the site.

    Medmum,
Worry not! I won't be going anywhere :)
This site has given me more inspiration and help than any SW class could ever do.
Don't get me wrong, I have had good support from fellow members, but on here there are more hints, tips and real support, its absolutely fab! :)
I will be here for a long time to come.
Yours and others support has been invaluable.

I'm sorry your feeling a bit low, and hope you are able to overcome your feelings of negativity.
We all get fed up at some point and like you, think Oh! bloody hell, more veg etc.
But it's being able to overcome these feelings and try to stay on the straight and narrow.

I can't speak for others but when I have dieted ( many times in the past ) and here and now I find it's all or nothing.
I cannot go for any grey areas in between.

If I had a slip up ( previous to this diet ) I would think oh what the hell, I have done the damage so I might as well carry on regardless. So I would continue to eat very greedily as if it was my last meal until it was time for WI the following week.
I was in a cycle of self destruct.
So this time because of my health issues with my heart I can honestly say I have NEVER cheated in the 46 weeks I have been on plan :)
I am not saying that I have not thought of jacking in, I have, when I knew I was 110% on plan and "ONLY LOST 0.5 " but somehow I was able to hold back because I knew that I only had to have something to set me off and that would have been it.

Please don't give up medmum, I resisted and look where I am now!
I am still hoping to get into my 11's this week although I have got to target.
It's a mental thing, I know I'm mental :) but this week I am allowed to have an extra B choice, and you know what?
    I darent!
Cos if I put on next week I will feel a failure and may struggle with the consequences.
So it's a psychological thing, just summat to get your head around.
It's supposedly maintenance but I am not sure I can handle it. Do you or anyone else have any wise words of wisdom for me?

Well done on your walk, that's all positive, and you medmum are an inspiration to us all, you always have some words of wisdom for us, always have great recipes, a wonderful woman, so snap out of it ( I know that sounds harsh but you know we all love ya ) and carry on regardless, and before you know it you too will be at target!

Total loss = 5 stone 12.5 lbs. / But now GAINED 1 STONE 1.5 LBS!!

    46 weeks!

I know! and I am a spoon licker/ just let me try yours type too.
Has anyone else found that they have become slightly obsessed by food?
I'm not actually hungry but this whole SW thing has got me thinking about it all the time!
I am either busy preparing (yet more) fruit and veg, writing a shopping list, looking at swrecipes or just reading recipe books generally, even watching cookery on TV if I can.Or my mind is on the next WI.
I'm sure it isnt meant to be like this, I think my personality is a bit odd, it's all or nothing for me.

My fourth, hoping it will pass and the whole notion of healthy eating will become as natural as breathing.Being on here , while great ,may be making it worse.I shall go and watch some non food related telly and then have a nice bubblebath!
Enjoy your Bank holiday everyone! If you have one, we do!

to Artytarty, all I think about is food as well. Constantly on my mind what i can eat next etc, when in free time I am always on line looking at this thread and minimins and everything else, I am constantly making food plans and looking at recipes and food programmes...... SW is all I think about. I love the weight I have lost and can't believe how easy it has been and I mean that it is just a healthy lifestyle but this obsession oh goodness!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the cherry layer mullers are 1.5 syns - I thought they were 0.5 as well but I checked the syns calculator and they are 1.5 syns. The only reason I get them is cos they are in the multi pack with the orange ones which are my favourites

thanks, it's good to know :) but ok as it's the only syns I had today  I am un-doing the 4 bottles of cider from last night for the next couple of days :o thinking about chocolate all the time but I promised I won't have any and I won't!

Just had a look at that and I was shocked it was 66 syns!

However I could see it coming as it was quite a bit of thoughtless snacking...

I used to lick spoons and polishing off kids leftovers but stopped the day I joined SW. I didn't want the syns to add up afer something I didn't want/like/enjoy

I am religiously measuring my HExtras and try to add up the syns...

my ONLY problem is the chocolate(in any form) as I can't stop when I had a little :o:o:o must work on this bit and everything should be fine :) I want 4lbs off this week to undo the gain and a little bit more :)

I was slightly obsessed with food the first weeks too... now I have the food I can eat 'in my head' so when I want something I'm choosing from the 'list'... I plan the meals for the day in the morning or the evening before and sometimes plan to cook something bigger(like a pie) a few days earlier so I have all the things I need for it...

I make sure I have lots of fruit and veg in the house(for snacks), stock up on alpen lights and yoghurts regulary and get meat/fish for the whole week on the weekend so I always have plenty to choose from and don't have to 'grab' bad things...
