ON a different note, I was thrilled to have a pound loss this morning. I had been in the kingdom of up-two-down-two for some time now and am finally on a new number. Which is particularly exciting as I am on my nasty steroids again which encourage me to gain weight with every breath I take. So very pleased overall.

HOWEVER I have a very challenging weekend - we're going to Bristol to stay with friends of DH who I've never met, who I'm sure are lovely but of course I won't have any control over food. And the reason we're going to Bristol is that I'm going on set to do a report from the Great British Bake Off! So excited. But all that cake! And I'll just have to try it of course, for the article....

    Hi

    Can anyone help...

I had SW quorn chilli and wedges last night for tea on EE- which was 6 syns as i have my HEA and HEB for breakfast daily (ceral and milk). I am guessing the wedges were the 6 syns worth i have some leftover for tonight but thought i would boil some pasta up to go with it... would this therefore be free on EE or would there still be syns to count?

    Thanks

Not sure why you think the wedges are synned... potatoes are free on EE?

As long as you also had 1/3 superfree with/ in your meal and no fat added to the wedges its free !

WI and another pound off. considering i spent 4 days in paris this is a bl**dy miracle! :j must have been all the walking around we did!

to everyone worried about not loosing or loosing slowly, last time i did this the changes aren't just in your weight. your skin will improve and your hair will. my skin was the clearest its ever been the last time i was on SW and its clearing up slowly again. even my hairdresser told me numerous times she couldn't believe the condition of my hair seeing as though i had a full head of a probably completely different colour every few months. even when i did my ill advised purple to platinum blonde phase she couldn't believe how well my hair held up. you will probably notice your energy levels go up too and you don't become so reliant on caffeine and sugar to get you through the day like you did, i used to down whole (8 cup!) cafetieres of very strong coffee twice a day, now i can get by on just one or two cups a day. i think we've all now had the time where we've fallen off plan and really, really noticed the difference in ourselves the day afterwards. we don't think about it normally but the reason we feel good every day is because we are eating such good food that our bodies need and looking after ourselves. if i loose slowly, I'm happy knowing at any rate, i feel better and look better than i did before!
has anyone got any ideas about what would do the worst damage to my eating plan from the menu at La Tasca?

the main prob with la tasca is nearly everything comes dripping in a sauce!

    i went the other day:
    • if you want to stay on plan go for the salads or a chicken and seafood paella.
    • if you get the chorizo and chicken there will be more syns in it.
    • they had a new lemon chicken dish that we got that was chicken pieces with what looked like grilled veg like peppers and onions. it was gorge but the lemon marinade will be syned and i think the veg had oil on it. prob one of the better things all in though as no sauce.
    • theres a tortilla espanola which is just omelette with potato and onion in that *should* be lower syn given the ingredients, does the website say anything about it?
    • pollo marbella is the nicest thing in the world but its a cream and white wine sauce so def not SW.
    • don't order the chicken croquettes, the menu makes it sound like they would be breaded chicken pieces and its like a chicken and mayo paste thats been breaded and is sat on a bed of garlic mayo
    • we had the elbogondias (i think thats the word/spelling?) they were spicy chilli in a pastry case. they were gorge but def not SW. mercifully small though!
    • the pork belly is mainly all fat and is sat on a tomato sauce with beans in it. i let my friend eat it all and even he said it was mostly just fat and no meat!
    • he also had the breaded white fish and they just look like mini fish that you get from a chippy so def not SW!

    Afternoon (just),

Well done Sarah and Evilsquid on your losses. Sarah- hope the cake doesn't do too much damage, although I am very jealous!

Just a quick hello and menu post as really busy in work today. Continuing with a disorganised menu (despite what I said yesterday, lol!), definitely better tomorrow though!

    B: 2 x nimble toast (HEB) with 10g butter (3.5)
L: Half of savoury rice (syns counted yesterday), quorn sausage (1), pear
T: Some kind of pasta, possibly carbonara made with quark and veg with ham as HEB
S: Mixed berries, jelly and mullerlight (still in work fridge from Wednesday!), some form of biscuit (5ish), milk in drinks (HEA)

Have a good day and weekend everyone!

Just popped in to say green day is going amazingly! I've just had some homemade veg soup. I got 4 packs classic soup mix veg from Tesco last night, they were reduced to(whoopsied) 10p a packet :j should've been £1.50 I think. I ended up having 2 bowls of it :o it was so nice. I just want to double check that chicken stock cubes are ok to have? I added a bit of chilli powder to it. Frozen the rest into portion sized amounts in the freezer. Will definitely be having lots of green days!

I also want to mention how surprised I am at how much money we are saving on SW. We went shopping last night and spend just over £200, but that got us a lot, my trolley was overflowing. We got loads of diced chicken breast - 15 packs to be precise :o sirloin steaks, a finest piece of beef, 3 whole chickens, 4 packs of steak mince, 4 packs of sausages(1syn per sausage and really tasty), a huge pork loin. Loads of fruit, veg, condiments, spices etc etc. We also had a few cheeky packs of chocolate but not for me I have to add! And, we had toiletries. It's really surprised me how much we are spending.

Does everyone else feel the same?
