    Hello Slimming World'ers

It has been two weeks since I joined SW so thought I'd share my 1st 2 weeks with you.

1st week I lost 2lb & at todays wi was -3.5lb :j So although I've got a long way to go, it's going in the right direction.

I must confess that I am a Coca-Cola addict so giving that up has been hard & diet coke is just not the same. I was going to have a Coke using syns but don't want to get a taste for it again.:naughty:

    Good luck with your weigh-in's

    Good evening.

Tonights WI I've lost 1lb......I know it's a loss and I should be happy but this is painfully slow!! I've been keeping a food diary this week because last week I STS. I have been so good for 2 weeks now. I put last weeks STS down to the week before when it was Easter and we ate out and had a takeaway. I am literally following it to the letter. I'm seeing people lose lots more than me on a week to week basis so I must be doing something wrong but I know deep down I'm not! I spoke briefly with the consultant tonight and she thinks I'm doing well, she said that smaller losses are better for keeping off long term!

Last year I lost 3 stone after finding out I had gallstones, I lost it by cutting out fat and a few other things, 2 stone was lost within 8 weeks and the other stone within 2 months. Sometimes I think I'm better going back to that than doing this but I really do enjoy SW and the foods you can eat.

Really fed up! I know it could be worse but considering how good I've been I expected at least 3lb off :(
  • Welcome snoopy58,
Your weight loss is fab is such a short amount of time.
Firstly, I must say that you should not be cutting right down on syns like this at such an early stage in your weight loss.
The syns are there to be used, and you should have at least 10 but 15 is preferable.
They can be used for your gravy/dressings and stuff, but the rest you could use up for a treat at night time when you relax watching tv, it seems curly wurly's are very popular with lots of members, especially when they are frozen and snapped whilst still in the wrapper, it lasts longer. Yummy!!
You should also aim to drink at least 2 litres of water per day, as it helps with the digestion, and also if your exercising it helps you so that you dont retain water through your muscles.
Funnily enough, by cutting your syns and cutting down on your food will actually SLOW DOWN YOUR LOSSES!!
The plans are designed to be followed to the letter, and if you do it right you will certainly get the losses that you strive for. If you cut down on anything then your changing the plan and that's when it stops working.
So eat everything you should, drink lots, do lots of exercise, eat all your syns and you will be laughing.
Good luck and remember you can always come on this thread and be welcomed by everyone and anytime you have a query about anything, food or otherwise there will always be a friendly soul who will try to help and guide you.

Total loss = 5 stone 12.5 lbs. / But now GAINED 1 STONE 1.5 LBS!!

Don't be too sad. We have all been there, it's just so frustrating knowing that you have followed the plan 100% and the scales don't show the right story.:mad:
Try not to feel so disheartened, a good sleep will do you good, and tomorrow is another day :rotfl:
Carry on regardless, and you know what everyone says????
They have told me often enough when I have been down like you, carry on and the scales WILL MOVE DOWNWARDS!!
And they are right because the scales will catch up with you GOOD OR BAD eventually.
Think about this time next week, probably 3 or 4 pound less and you will be :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    Good luck xx

Thank you so much for your kind words and advice gettingthere54. I have such a long journey ahead of me that it feels pretty daunting at the moment. I have set my self a mini target - 2 stone by mid June (daughter's graduation) and would love 3 stone by 14th August - wonderful holiday. I haven't set my final target as it seems like an impossible dream but feel that I have similar scale start and finish numbers to your good self.
At the moment I am very motivated to keep going but know that I am only a Crunchie away from the slippery slope to choccie heaven.

Last week I was thinking this time next week I will be 3 or 4 pounds less but no such luck. If I'm only meant to lose 1lb-2lb per week then so be it, at least it's coming off, even if it's painfully slow! I am determined to lose this weight! I thought I would have 4 stone off before Florida in November but it's more likely going to be 2 stone, but it's a drop in 2 or 3 dress sizes which is only a good thing!

I can testify to the advise to drink plenty. I've not had water at all today and this evening I'm hungry - despite being full iykwim. A couple of glasses of water and I feel much better!
