I'm doing this without a group - how do I decide what my target is...I'm dithering between 'ideal world' (ie when i was 20 before kids lol) and what is probably more realistic/ sustainable....
    .
Why not set yourself mini goals - whether a stone at a time or to have lost a certain amount by a certain date. Then let yourself have a treat - either new clothes or a meal out or something you've missed (like chip shop chips!). Actually, even in class previously I used to set mini targets because in class if you reach target you don't have to pay. So then you have a few weeks maintaining without paying, and set yourself another target, etc.
Can someone post a recipe for baked bean lasagne, I'm intrigued now!!
too late, I marked this to respond but someone (Med Mum or Maman) has. Really you can always either google for recipes, or search the MSN boards, or click on the recipe thread link on our first page, it saves anyone having to type it out (sorry, thinking about me really, I HATE having to copy type when I am relaxing at home :rotfl: )

Hello! I joined SW two weeks ago, I am on the Extra Easy plan.
I find the social asp[ect difficult, drinks with friends/lunches out etc.
Also, I can only find low fat yogurt, not fat free, I cant get Quark at all,nor fat free natural fromage frais! Can anyone tell me the difference between fromage frais and creme fraiche please?
I'm with Evilsquid on this ... I buy low fat plain yog and count it as free for what I use. Fat free is vile, though not as vile as quark which is the food of the devil, tasteless and white, what's the point! Really, you aren't missing anything!

Someone a page or two back asked about "white stuff" for meringues etc. You could either use plain yog mixed with options chocolate powder for a filling, or low fat squirty cream is about half a syn a squirt! You don't want to ruin a beautiful meringue with quark! Just my opinion though :D

Ive not had time to post, though I've been reading and "thanking" - I sts this week and to be honest I was lucky to do so. Tomorrow we have a leaver - I was going to get out of the joint celebratory lunch until they changed their plans to chip shop food .... I will take a big box of salad and some home made SW ketchup and mix some chip shop chips in with it, yummy!

Good luck with the docs tomorrow, if you can't get in maybe you could go to the walk in centre at your local hospital?
They will have to investigate your symptoms, and also put your mind at rest. That's what they are paid to do and your a British Citizen with rights to the help of the NHS, your just as important as the next person.
If you tell them about your family history of heart trouble and that your worried it may be linked then they have a duty of care towards you. Don't take no for an answer.
    Hugs to you :):)

TIE can your OH take you to A&E? Honestly, don't mess about with this, not with all you've been through this year. If not A&E, most areas have out of hours central docs on call these days (in Shropshire we have ShropDoc).

Quick question, I have cut up a pineapple ( to share this time and not eat all by myself ) it was a bit tarty, if I put canderel sugar on it will it change the value of it? ie: would I have to syn it like you would if it were an apple and you stewed it??
    Thanks x

no, you're not cooking it just adding some sweetener! I often gently warm fruit through if it's been in the fridge (like pineapple or strawberries) and I don't syn them. Or you could just leave the pineapple a day or two longer, to ripen :)

It would still be syn free, as long as it does not cause the pineapple to turn to mush then it would have to be syned just like with stewed apples or pears.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but sweetener is free.

Evening all, well after waiting over 45 minutes to be weighed in this evening I can report a loss of 3.5lbs :j Was very pleased with this as I thought I had blown it after eating the treat bag of chocs.

I have also decided that I would like to try some running, now the nights are getting lighter I feel I could manage to squeeze this in to my daily routine. I love the free jogging on the Wii and can quite happily jog my way through an episode of Eastenders :rotfl: I thought I would try the real thing.

Does anyone else run/jog or even walk? I will be following the couch to 5k on the nhs website. I am looking for running shoes this weekend, and feel that if I commit to buying a pair it will be very un :money: if I don't put them to good use.

Please can I join in? I've been reading your thread for a couple of weeks now and am thoroughly enjoying the tips and friendliness.

I started at SW on 22/02/12 and am following extra easy. So far I have lost 1st6lbs. I'm very pleased with the loss so far but am worried that it seems to have slowed down (only lost half a pound this week and I truly haven't gone off plan). At group last evening I came to the conclusion that I proably don't take enough fluids, particularly when at work - for instance I only had one drink yesterday morning and then nothing at all until around 8pm (at group). Sometimes I do manage one drink during the day. Today I've been really conscientious and upped my fluids.
Plus, I've been limiting my SYNS, keeping to around 5 or less, using them for l/f salad dressing, olives & gravy granules. I think I may have misunderstood the plan. So, today I've kind of gone back to basics and have measured my milk (always skimmed milk) and have found that I've been short-changing myself. I'd really appreciate it if someone could have a look at what I'm eating and let me know if I'm OK.
    So far today I've had:
breakfast - 2 weetabix, 250ml skim milk (125ml still in 'fridge), banana, blueberries
snack - 2 satsumas, mullerlight, cup of rosehip tea
lunch - h/m tandoori chicken, plain couscous, toms, cucumber, spinach, 8 olives (1 SYN), 2tbsp l/f dressing (1 SYN), apple
    2 low sugar drinks
dinner - h/m spag bol (SW recipe), pasta, brocolli, extra mushrooms cooked in fry light
I'm worried that if I up my SYNS I'll either stop losing weight or put weight back on.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you
