Well done losers very motivating seeing the losses.

Thank you for your concern, woke up this morning to stiff, swollen fingers [still couldn't get my rings on :(]. I had trouble gripping the bedroom door to open it, luckily it pushes down so used my palm. Knees and ankles were very stiff too, struggled to walk down the stairs. Walking to work was a big effort today.
Well my Drs are carp, hubby rang for appointment and they couldn't fit me in, not even on emergency [fully booked]. Will try again tomorrow. I just want to rule out my heart as lost my lovely Dad 5 months ago to massive heart attack and my mum has had two heart attacks over the years and has been in heart failure ever since [still going strong though].
Fingers crossed I get in tomorrow.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Hi and thanks! I normally have about two gin and slimline and two glasses of wine each saturday and Sunday. How many syns would I need to save for that? I think the problem lies in the fact the alcohol weakens the determination, when I see others having handfuls of nuts/crisps I want them too!
I "only" have a stone in total to lose, it must have been beginners luck/fluid that first week.
I was thinking of switching over to the green plan as I dont eat very much meat and hate fish, but tbh I cant see what difference it would make.

slimline is free, i think gin is about the 4 syn mark, but it depends on how big your shots are. wine also depends on how big your glasses are, i used to count 6 for a small glass i think. the values are all in the syn section in the book.

if you know you will fall at eating junk food, you could do what i do and do damage limitation with success express and low syn in the few days before and/or after and just flexi syn the night and go out saying you won't go mad but if you want a drink you'll have it with a diet mixer or a small glass and if you want food you'll have it but try and choose a healthy choice. you just have to weigh up wether having a smaller loss is worth having a really good night out where you aren't counting or worrying. i don't go out that often so when i do go out i want to enjoy it and not come home thinking "oh i wish i'd had that!"

EE is useless if you don't eat much meat. there is literally no point in doing it unless you are a staunch meat and potato for your meals sort of person. Green is unlimited potatoes and other root veg, pasta, noodles and grains like quinoa etc BUT you also get 2 HEA and 2 HEB and the Green HEB list is extended to include more cheese and dried fruits etc. if you still want meat, meat is now a measured HEB portion (mainly the reason why you have two on G and one on EE, the second one was there to be used for meat but you now don't need it). have a look through your books and just look at the orange and green pages. theres also confusion about if the 1/3 SF rules apply to green. i got to target last time on mostly green days without the 1/3 SF rule so i don't see the need to stick to it as rigidly as SW make it seem you should. i lived on humongous bowls of pasta!

    good afternoon :)

well done to all losers :T

I totally blew it this week :(:(:(

I was a pig and ate much too much chocolate :(

Never mind, no treats for me this weekend and I will try to be very very good from now on with lots of fruit and veg to 'make up' for being naughty... :o

I was considering not going to the meeting on Saturday but decided I HAVE TO face it even if it will be a (big :( ) gain...

I guess I will have to bin all temptations I have at home(just done after I wrote it!) and not buy anymore :o:o:o

Tonight's dinner will be turkey mince with passata, lots of veg and pineapple on iceber lettuce :)

Re the potato&cauliflower cakes: I ended up adding two eggs but no milk, fried(with frylight) some and baked some too, both versions were very nice :)

    Still dreading Sat morning :(:o:o:o

Good luck with the docs tomorrow, if you can't get in maybe you could go to the walk in centre at your local hospital?
They will have to investigate your symptoms, and also put your mind at rest. That's what they are paid to do and your a British Citizen with rights to the help of the NHS, your just as important as the next person.
If you tell them about your family history of heart trouble and that your worried it may be linked then they have a duty of care towards you. Don't take no for an answer.
    Hugs to you :):)

  • Quick question, I have cut up a pineapple ( to share this time and not eat all by myself ) it was a bit tarty, if I put canderel sugar on it will it change the value of it? ie: would I have to syn it like you would if it were an apple and you stewed it??
    Thanks x
