piglet, you were asking about cutting portions or syns or what do do when you're near target. My advice would be none of those unless you're desperate to get to target for a specific date (which I think you may be?). If you are then I'd do some success express.
My reasoning is that you soon have to decide what 'normal' eating is for you. I carried on eating almost all SW and just kept losing more weight!! So I'm saying you need to eat all your SW food and then some when you get to target. If you have been depriving yourself of syns or portions you'll either carry on losing weight or suddenly have to eat loads more which could be difficult to control.
thank you,
so far i havent had to exercise any portion control, and i take 15 syns a day, (usually, sometimes 12 / 13) on a sat nite i have my chinese takeaway (i never count this, i have no HEA or HEB on a sat, to help count towards this) but my chinese is dinner and tea and syns all rolled into one really.
i was thinking of trying to go to 10 syns, but i understand what you are saying, i have done some Success Express days before with great results, so i will try that again too,
I would like to be at target in 10 weeks time, as that will be a year since i started and 6 stone 3lbs lost (i went for 6 stone 3lbs as i wanted to always have the 6 stone off, even if i put on the 3lbs leeway you are allowed at target, hope that makes sense):o0 -

gettingthere54 - can I ask how tall you are? And what will your BMI be when you get to target?

I'm still thinking about my target...
Hi CY,
I am 5ft 4 but for some reason I'm now told 5ft 5 by the hospital!
Here are my stats:
Start weight: 17 stone 8.5 lbs.
Current weight: 12 stone 2.5 lbs.
Total loss : 5 stone 6 pounds.
8 pounds to target.
Start BMI: 42.3
Current BMI: 29.30
Target BMI: 27.9
For myself I want to lose the 6 stone, at least then I have achieved A TARGET
If I can then carry on and lose some more whilst maintaining then that will be a bonus, as I have heard that some people still lose whilst maintainingI can then move my target accordingly if I am lucky enough for that to happen.
Total loss = 5 stone 12.5 lbs. / But now GAINED 1 STONE 1.5 LBS!!
46 weeks! :beer:0 -
Evening all...
Thank you so much for all of your kind words, I am feeling a bit better today. I have recently stopped smoking, I am on Day 10 today and am actually finding this week a lot harder than last week. My appetite seems to have really changed and all I can think about is eating naughty things:o
I have been ok today, drank plenty of water and plan to get on the Wii later.
Got WI tomorrow but I'm going to take whatever the scales throw at me and use it to fuel next week. I've got a holiday to Spain in 3 months and I would love to lose enough weight to be able to brave a bikini.
Gettingthere54 your weight loss is fantastic, I am desperate to get into the 12 stone band again, my original target when I joined SW was to get down to 12stone 7lbs as this was the weight I remember being at upper school. I have got down to 12stone 10lbs so 3lbs off my target but could never seem to get any lower.
After WI tomorrow I will set myself a mini target, I need something to keep me going. As it stands I'm just plodding along with no real direction.
Thanks again people, and well done to some fantastic losses for people at WI today and yesterday :T0 -
Evening all,
A pretty good day today food wise:
B - melon
S - banana, pear
L - sweet & sour chicken (passata, onion, peppers, chicken, can of diet fanta) with boiled rice; mullerlight; pear; satsuma
D - salad, jersey royal tatties (yum), SW "quiche" (eggs, FF cottage cheese, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinkling of grated cheese (HEA))Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000
Current mortgage £28,0000 -
well apparently something has gone drastically wrong since last night to now lol, according to my scales, currently im 12st 10.5lbs which is not good since WI is tomorrow night. im really starting to think that sitting in a swivel chair all day is going to affect the rate of weight loss i'll now have. im thinking i may have to go via the gym on the way home.
i really dont want another STS tomorrow but i feel it coming.
im thinking my final weight should maybe be around 10.5st -ish... im 5'9, but my top half is now around a 12-14, but my lower half is still a 14, hopefully i will lose something tomorrow, but at the minute as of last WI im 12st 10I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know
On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!0 -

I'll let you know how it works out!i stuck my yoghurt in the freezer and it darn near broke my spoon. i had to lift it out and let it 'melt' for a half hour before i could get my spoon into it... though if you were to make an ice lolly out of it, it would work better. dont get me wrong, it was loooovely, but quite simply a brick.
I don't like ice cream so obviously I am no expert. But I freeze my Muller Lights (or whatever, there's a Shape fat free in there at the mo) for 1.5 hours max. That way you have a thin crunchy icy top, a sorbet kind of texture for most of the remainder and the very centre is cold but not yet frozen. Another, much faster, method is to take the lid off your chosen yoghurt and push in as many bits of frozen fruit as you can (raspberries are particularly easy and particularly delicious) without it all spurting over the edge. Then pop the whole thing into the freezer for 10 minutes. "Ice cream" with superfree fruit! Good luck.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

Your weight /height and goals are a bit like mine:-
height 5'4"
starting weight 17 stone 9 and a 1/2
current weight 12 stone 2 and a 1/2
target weight - haven't made my mind up yet - I was going for 10 stone 7 and a 1/2 (100lbs off) but this seems rather a long way away at the moment!
I am going to do a couple of days of success express this week - also i have to go out for a meal at the weekend - I suspect not very S/W friendly - we're going to La Tasca - does anyone have any ideas as to what would fit in best with the plan?:jFlylady and proud of it:j0
