All this poo talk is making me :rotfl:

But on a serious note, I suffered for years with constipation and bloating and diarrhea, I was told I had IBS by numerous doctors, and I had several trips to A&E with the most excruciating pain. Last year I discover it was gallstones.....and the only reason I found out I had gallstones was due to being rushed to hospital, I saw a doc who was on the ball and recognised the symptoms straight away. I was diagnosed within an hour of arriving, I was admitted to hospital with acute pancreatis, spent 5 days in hospital! Scariest time of my life. But the gallbladder is now out of me and I poo every day! :j The only time I had difficulty was at the start of SW three weeks ago.....I discovered the cause was too many eggs! So if you have a lot of unexplained bloating and constipation mention it to your doc that you would like your gallbladder looked at.

I will do, thanks, god you must have been terrified, first it was a cyst on my ovary that the sonogropher didn't think "was of any significance" so they assumed that was the cause of my pain then IBS, back a year later, re-scanned, cyst is gone and now its chronic constipation

I have a very high pain threshold (2 forcep deliveries no drugs ) so am not just complaining about a wee bit of pain, sometimes it actually takes my breath away, will see what doc says on Friday, she is a new doc and someone I can talk to :D

  • Any chance of telling me what a frittata is? How is it made and what do you put in it? :rotfl: It's my thickness coming to the surface again :D I don't really experiment with recipes so need a bit of a shove sometimes :D and I know you lovely ladies will come to my rescue!
    Thanks in anticipation xx

Now see.. here is a reason why you shouldn't catch up on posts from newest to oldest - all this poo talk and I totally miss read that as constipation. :o

Well the slow cooked beef and veg smells devine, the kids have eaten it ( taste testers) so it can't be bad. Not looking forward to group tonight. Can't shake the feeling I'll be STS. Why do we do this to ourselves? :D

p.s. as a student nurse I refuse to get involved in all this talk of poo, I deal with far too much of it as it is :rotfl:

Ooops half a pound on for me again this week (in spite of breathing OUT when on the scales, I think it's the prv week catching up as I've been really good this week. Anyway, trying to do 2/3 superfree in most meals for a few days, and double checking all syns and HEs as I don't want to be paying and not losing weight!
Do you mind telling me how you make home-made SW ketchup?
I would love it with my SW chips, thanks :)
The recipe for this was in a free booklet in the magazine about 3 months ago, the booklet was called Kitchen Secrets. It keeps for up to 3 weeks in the fridge so I make a half-amount, and I add chilli to their recipe, which I will put in the next post so it doesn't take up too much room!
You wouldn't - there's actually not a huge amount there as there is a lot of free food in there. It just sounds like a lot but in fact it's a very good day's plan I think apart from no breakfast.

Actually MedMum, Gettingthere was quoting my day's food, not hers, and I did have breakfast, a big cooked breakfast - it was all listed but didn't copy over on your quote!

But peas are superspeedy!!:rotfl: It's very complicated isn't it!!

Oh lord even our Consultant gets confused with this and gives out the wrong info. We had a discussion a few weeks ago about (I think) tomatoes which she claimed were not superfree, confusing us all and having us rummaging for our books! This week one of the members (who I think has a tendency to confusion in every aspect of her life!) commented that she was surprised sprouts weren't superfree. The consultant agreed that it was suprising. I couldn't be bothered looking (I was knitting) so I looked it up today. Yup, they are superfree, but not superSPEED. Peas of course are the other way round. I spent some time today wondering what else SW could use instead of the superspeed thing; I thought of Fast but that would be confused with the F for fibre.

    SW ketchup from the booklet:
(this makes half of their recipe)
    half an onion chopped
clove (or more) of garlic chopped
1 400g can of chopped tomatoes
1 tsp each of ground cinnamon, celery salt, english mustard powder and white pepper
    4 tbs artificial sweetener
    125 ml red wine vinegar
    half tbs Worcestershire sauce
    (I add chilli too)

Put all ingredients in a pan and bring to boil. Reduce heat and cook gently for 40-45 mins, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat when it has reduced down and thickened, season with sea salt if you wish and leave to cool. Blend until smooth. (it then says sieve into a bowl but Ive never done that!) Transfer into a clean lidded jar and keep it in the fridge.
