Urgh - was at a work away day today and lunch was provided - the only thing that wasn't deep fried was coleslaw and potato salad - fat overload! Luckily I forgot that lunch was laid on and took harissa chickpeas and bulgar salad. I did succumb to half a danish and wish I hadn't wasted my syns tbh as it wasn't that nice. Nevermind with a free tea I should be ok.

Piggie, gettingthere - think how much you've actually lost, your bodies will fluctuate. Like a pilot on a plane it is readjusting its course but the destination is still the same. If you stick to plan the weight will come off, it'll catch up with you eventually.

    gunsandbanjos,
    Your an absolute gem!
You say such nice things, and believe you me, it's these sorts of comments that actually make it worthwhile carrying on. :A:rotfl::):T:cool::D:o;):p

Oh dear! I hope my bad luck isn't rubbing off on you lovely ladies, it's so demoralising when you know you have been 100% on plan.

And then you get the ones that say ........... I have had 3 curries at the weekend followed by fish n chips and popcorn at the cinema ....... and they lost X amount of pounds! Grrrrrrrhh!!

yeah that makes me cross too!!! tho i still think that being bad catches up with them too ;)

Oh it definitely catches up but that goes for good and bad!!

I know some of you are a bit fed up but it will come good in the end. Since getting to target, I've been losing weight accidentally. My consultant says it's to do with relaxing and not stressing about WI every week. Easier said than done.

Something that worries me a lot - How do you away from counting calories?I keep going back to counting calories which i know isnt the SW way and i think this is now ingrained in my head and sadly i have a good idea of how many calories are in most foods (or i can take a good guess) but to lose a pound of fat you need to burn 3500 calories a week which equates to 1500 calories day so how can the "eat as much you like" actually work?

I really & truly dont get it - since i started SW it has been a question i have given a lot of thought about :o and i still dont have the answer.

Probably a very random post but having just used MFP to track what i have eaten today i am nearly at 1500 calories and now i am feeling a bit stressed about my dinner as this is going to push me over 1500. Thats not including syns as i think i have only used 2 today..

Sorry for the random post..just wanted to post my thoughts down..

I've never really worked out the calories I'm eating but if you're filling your plate with 1/3 SF then these add up to very few calories - whatever else you add to it probably doesn't add to a huge amount.

Add that to any body magic that you're doing and you'll be fine. That's the way I understand it anyway but you do have to stop thinking about calories otherwise you'll drive yourself mad!

I try not to think about the science involved in SW, I know that using the energy in high protein foods takes longer than using the ones in in simple refinded carbs, and leave you feeling fuller for longer. even though I can eat as much as I like on SW I still try to not over eat, as that what made me bigger in the 1st place but I don't bother calorie counting. I know if I stick with lean meats and fresh fruit and veg, limit my bread/cheese and have an occasional treat I'll loose weight :)
get rid of all the pounds by summer !!

  • Finally managed to find some free time and went to the supermarket and stocked up. I'm going to make a huge batch of SW ragu (from one of the previous mags) and then I'll use it to make some freezer meals.

Got my eggs for my breakfast frittatas and baked beans and potatoes and lots of salad stuff so here's hoping I'll be fully back on track by the end of the week.
