Good evening, just popping in to say I just made the chicken kievs from the latest edition of SW magazine and OMG they were the nicest kievs ever.....my little boy 8 said he wants them like that all the time. Really nice and full of flavour. The only thing I did differently was use dried coriander instead of fresh parsley which I'd forgotten to get. We had them with new potatoes tossed in ex light mayo and some finely sliced red onions, and a side salad.

Try it ladies, you will love it!

lol Med Mum - you took the words out of my mouth! Agree about us Scots calling a spade a shovel :D

Poohbear please eat more than that, this plan works by restricting the high fat/calorie foods but allowing us to eat pretty much as much as we want of the less calorie dense stuff. I have found in the past from other diets that if I restrict the amount of food I eat, I fall off the wagon spectacularly after a few weeks.

Poohbear I don't know how things are going for you but looking at the above food plan you really aren't eating enough - 2 eggs for lunch - is that it? I would die of hunger if that's all I had. Where are the veggies and fruit? Come on girl we're allowed to eat on this plan so get some food down you!!!!

I have eaten a bowl of vegetables and had some ratatouille with my risotto. Lunch time was difficult as I was in a rush and didn't want to eat bread as I had already had my HE. What I forgot today was that I could have two HEs as I wasn't having meat or fish. Maybe some cereal at bed time may be a good idea..

  • Poohbear, I hope I didn't offend you as that wasn't my intention at all - I just wanted to point out that SW is really not a diet like any other and that's why it works.

A major part of the plan though is planning and lunchtime can be a nightmare - I know because the last month for me has been full of nightmares and I went majorly off plan. Unfortunately my crazy days aren't over (I have one today) but I've given myself a good talking to and spent just 20 minutes last night peeling and cutting veggies and fruit to take with me today. Today I'm making soup (veggies prepared last night) so that tomorrow I'll be able to take a flask of it with me but if I want this to work I have to make it work - we have to control our eating and not let it control us which so many of us have done for many many years.

Good luck and of course we're all in the same boat and all here to help each other pull those bloody oars!

hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j
  • My official WI isn't until tomorrow but judging from my own scales I've stayed the same this week.

I feel like I am doing everything right but I guess not...

Could you lovely experienced ladies cast an expert eye over a couple of typical days and tell me if you can see anything obviously wrong:

late B: ff yogurt, eggs, mushroom, tomato + grapefruit
snack: Alpen light, half an HEB
D: mushy pea curry (lots of veg) + mango, melon, pineapple
    Wine 6.5 syns
HEA - skimmed milk for coffee

    B: eggs + grapefruit
L: leftover mince (with lots of veg cooked in) with cheese + mango, melon, pineapple
snack: Alpen light, half an HEB
D: chicken, cauliflower, sweetcorn, broccoli + mango, melon, pineapple, grapes
    Wine 6.5
    Cheese 5
    Options hot choc 2
HEA - skimmed milk for coffee

    Many thanks.

Minnie what plan are you following?

First plan looks green in which case you are missing an A and 1.5B choices.

Second plan looks red but with the same problem as above, the fibre from the B and the low fat dairy actually help your weight loss.
