I really & truly dont get it - since i started SW it has been a question i have given a lot of thought aboutand i still dont have the answer.
Probably a very random post but having just used MFP to track what i have eaten today i am nearly at 1500 calories and now i am feeling a bit stressed about my dinner as this is going to push me over 1500. Thats not including syns as i think i have only used 2 today..
Sorry for the random post..just wanted to post my thoughts down..
My husband had the same 'belief' problem and put off joining sw for six months because of it! It was only when I lost weight that he realised it worked. Now he's lost 2.5 stone.
It works because, if you stick to the third superfree rule, there's only so much potato and rice and pasta that you can stuff yourself with before you're full. And the things that make us tend to put on weight - the things grabbed quickly adn eaten hastily - are only really fruit and yogurts on this diet. Everything else is synned, or you have to cook. And having to cook another bowl of pasta with a homemade sauce is not what you'll do at 10pm when you think you're a bit hungry, so instead you might have a cup of tea, or an apple. It works in lots of clever ways, I think.0 -
Just adding my tuppence worth ~
I know some of us are cheesed off at not having lost even when we've been super dooper good, but all those lovely gals who said "keep going, it will come off in the end" are right
I had a month of "up and lb, down a lb" which drove me potty as I was being SO good all week and sticking to it. To go through that and be exactly the same weight after 4 weeks is a tad annoying
However, it does all come good in the end and after Jan I've managed to lose another stone and 1/2. Just got to keep going, cos what else are you gonna do? Give Up? What's the point in that? Because then you'll defo not lose anymore!
And as for the "how does this work?" question ~ Who knows? Actually, who cares? Not me! Because it does work, trust me, and I'm a real greedy pig (no offence Piglet) who eats LOADS of free and super free and I can honestly say, having lost 8 st 4 times, that this is the easiest most stress free, healthiest way of doing it.
When I "treat" myself with carp, I feel totally rubbish, and soon long for a nice juicy orange, or apple or pineapple (hey Getting There;)). I really think this time, I've changed the way I cook, rather than what I eat, and I couldn't be happier. I have struggled with my eating for years and years, but like I said last week, now, I think I'm free.Say it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

You say such nice things, and believe you me, it's these sorts of comments that actually make it worthwhile carrying on. :A:rotfl::):T:cool::D:o;):p
Aww, you guys are sweet:):o
I'm in awe of all you guys who have lost loads of weight, it would be easy for you to give up but you don't, it's a long road but the end definitely justifies the means.
I hope I can be as disciplined to get near my goal. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

Today's food
EE
B:35g porridge (HEB) and semi skimmed milk (HEA
L:2 boiled eggs
snack 10 cherry tomatoesAldi savoury rice with extra onions, peppers and celery. 1/4 packet is 1 syn so may just have that.
Poohbear I don't know how things are going for you but looking at the above food plan you really aren't eating enough - 2 eggs for lunch - is that it? I would die of hunger if that's all I had. Where are the veggies and fruit? Come on girl we're allowed to eat on this plan so get some food down you!!!!When I "treat" myself with carp, I feel totally rubbish, and soon long for a nice juicy orange, or apple or pineapple (hey Getting There;)). Completely agree with you here Frogga - I wish I could bottle that awful feeling when I've pigged out on the wrong stuff but somehow I always end of back there - I've also struggled practically my whole life and although I've fallen off the wagon the last month I know that this program really works and if you follow it for long enough you not only lose the weight but really educate yourself to eat well. My blood work changed in 3 months and I brought my way too high triglycerides down from 189 to 99 just by following this and losing 15lb (no exercise). I've got a long long way to go but if that's what 15lb can do, I can't wait to see what the next 15lb will do.Mediterranean Mum

Thanks for that gunsandbanjos, your doing really well yourself, and as we are all in the same boat, rowing against the tide we will all eventually get to land!
Some quicker than others, but it's a journey we all must take. x x
Keep up the good work gals x x
