That is the trouble with Glossybox. I would have liked shminxess, amyb, and kimmy393's box, but I wouldn't have liked the box that a lot of others have had on here.

It really is the luck of the draw, or whether you are one of the chosen few! I never had a really bad box, but have never been overwhelmed either.

2 good ones here, received by bloggers. Do not read if you haven't received your GlossyBox as contains spoilers. If I was subscribed still, would have liked either:

I think it shows how they will never win tho.
I got the HD Brows Tweezers which everyone seem to want but they don't appeal to me at all.

    My thoughts on Glossybox:

Okay, so firstly I didn't receive this month's box because last month's "special birthday box" was so underwhelming that I cancelled my sub - but I still have an opinion ;) (What's that? You're not shocked?!)

Basically, I cannot believe that Glossybox treats its customers so shoddily. The June boxes range from downright tat to just about adequate. There is nothing new and exciting, no breakthrough brands, nothing of premium quality............in short, nothing that corresponds to their original statements about what Glossybox would be.

The BM beauty sample seems nice - Lux box featured two of the BM eyeshadows in April and they were lovely - so that is an acceptable product.

The Green People sun lotion seems to have popped up in every single box so far - I'm a huge fan of Green People but this isn't their greatest product by any means.

The Dermablend kits looks lovely but have a really limited shade range.
(If you want something similar but in lighter or darker shades, I recommendKeromask. They sell kits which include mixers and setting powders as well as a range of foundation shades. I took the "light" kit to Venice with me in February, used it every day and still had another weeks' worth left when I got home, so you get a good amount of product to try. It's a good foundation and concealer even if you're not trying to cover marks.)

The GB brand make up brush is such a terrible idea. EVERY make up artist will tell you that you can achieve a better look with quality brushes and cheap products than you can with a truckload of MAC, NARS and Face Atelier but a rubbish set of tools. Using cheap brushes to bulk out the boxes is shocking.

The perfume sample is, at least, a good size but that's probably why so few people received it!

The problem with GB is that they should be supplying everyone with the same quality and they clearly aren't. They are making a hefty profit shifting free/dirt cheap promo goods and they don't care about anything else.

There is no reason that everyone shouldn't get the same - I've said this before. GB should be negotiating better deals with PR agencies so that they have enough stock to fill every box with the same thing. Even if they have to pay a token amount for a large order, they should do that in order to provide their customers with a quality item.

Instead of which, it always looks as if they've hit the pound shop followed by raiding the freebies at beauty counters in Debenhams, Boots and Selfridges - then randomly dumped stuff in boxes and posted it. Unless you are a blogger of course :rotfl:

Well I've had my GB today and I have to say I'm in 2 minds about it really.

I got the same box as Katie's beauty blog mentioned above.

I too thought that I had something missing when I opened the box and really wasn't expecting much when I picked it up and felt the weight.

So for those of you who cannot access the blog post above, I got:

    spoilers in white:

Serie Exclusiv Pro Beauty Brush - rrp £15

Me me Me Nail gloss - sensuous - rrp £4.50, (although this seems to be for a 12ml bottle and the one I got was 5ml). I like small bottles of nail varnish though as I think large ones are a waste.

1g pot of BM Beauty, summer warmth bronzer - rrp £2 as £8 for 4g.

10ml spray of Caudalie eaux Fraiches perfume - The Des Vignes - rrp £5 as £26 for 50ml

Vichy dermablend ultra-corrective foundation cream stick - rrp £9.50 as £19 for 12g and I got 6g. Looks like it may be really messy to use as the creams are in a silver and plastic pack, (similar to one you'd get tablets in), so once opened the cream will go everywhere. Will have to search out a way to store this properly, before opening, I think.

I'm sure I will try the majority of the products, I just always like to get a bit of skincare too and really don't consider make-up brushes to be a sample item.

Really the box has far too much make-up for me and a perfume sample which I never really like. I'm trying really hard not to be a moaning mini about it though as its a good value box, especially considering I may get cash back on it.

Hope others are happy with their box.

You summed up my thoughts on Glossybox better than I could have myself!

In other news I picked up my second June SSB box and it is EXACTLY the same as my first box right down to the eyelash variation :rotfl:Not the end of the world as I quite liked the box and at the super cheap subscription rate it is certainly still good value. I would have liked to have tried different products but hey it's not SSB's fault I'm greedy!

Any word on Joliebox? I'm very excited at the prospect of French goodies!!! :T

I have received my Glossy Box today and....
I have to say it is disappointing.
I got the glossy box brush RRP £15, no idea where they got that idea from but I have better brushes and have paid alot less than that. Will use to clean my keyboard I think....
A mini Yves mascara with a chip in, very tacky and won't wear so will pass onto my sister.
BM bronzer which is far too dark but with the British weather the way it is I will have plenty of time to master using this but only in my own home.
Agent provocateur perfume samples which I did send off when they were on the freebie board but have not received so maybe glossy box know something I don't.
And finally the Vichy dermablend, seem okay but I don't use concealer so will find a new home for this.
Its a shame that they don't seem to evenly mix the content of the boxes, I am happy to receive a variety of products but the boxes do differ hugely this time I received the cheap box so will have to see what next month brings.:)
