Firstly, I need to ask you all NOT to discuss swapping products on the forum or we will find the thread shut down and locked.

It is against MSE policy to allow personal details to be given out on this site and I was personally warned about this when I offered to swap something on the Grabbit board.

If anyone wishes to swap items, you will need to either create a swap/MSE group on Facebook or privately exchange email addresses (although this is against the forum rules, it has been done many times on the comping boards)

I am not trying to be a killjoy, I am simply trying to keep this thread alive and kicking and within MSE guidelines.

Secondly, there needs to be a clarification of the rules regarding spoilers.

Originally, we decided that the only way to avoid spoilers was to ask people not to look at the thread until they received their box. HOWEVER the bright sparks on the thread came up with the clever idea of writing in white text :T which meant we could all read posts etc without fear of spoiling the surprise.

Unfortunately, this new format wasn't made clear on the OP (my fault) and some people made references to products in black type. As a result, myself, Missli and others discovered what the product in June's Amarya box was about 4 days before receiving our boxes.

So, new rule: discussion of products in any way, shape or form within a week of the first boxes being recieved MUST be written in white text. This includes any information which may help to identify a product ie using words such as "large tube", "cleansing", "pleasant smell", "moisturising", "liquid" etc etc

There are forum members who receive 4 or 5 boxes per month and are at real risk of having every single box spoiled by reading this thread. We don't want to lose anyone so the "white rule" takes effect as of today.

    Thank you

(can I take my stern hat off now and talk about my boxes instead? :rotfl: )

Missli, I got my Amarya box this morning via Mr Normal Postie, nor Mr Parcel Postie. I don't know how they decide who brings the boxes because sometimes they come with the walking-route letters delivery and sometimes in the parcel van.

I haven't had a profiling email from Joliebox so I've emailed them about it. I cannot, for the life of me, find a profile section on the site but if anybody wishes to point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful!

    White text:

I already had an idea of what the product was from keeping up with this thread - but I didn't know the brand etc.

I was a little disappointed at first. Santaverde is not a brand I've ever tried before. I don't know why, it just always seems to be too expensive for what it is.

Anyway, I have half a dozen types of face wash and cleanser so I wasn't really bothered about this one until I tried it. It smells AMAZING! As a face wash it is nice enough, nothing special. Not as soothing as Barefoot Botanicals SOS face wash but still very gentle and left my skin soft and clean.

I wouldn't buy it, simply because of the price but it is a nice enough introduction to the brand and smells so good it made me drool.

Not as good as last month's box with the Lavera cream and the lip gloss, but definitely worth £10

Amarya is still my favourite box and the only one I would consider keeping full-time. I know that I'll get a product that I can actually use each month - unlike the other boxes. There was NOTHING in this month's Lux Box that I would consider putting near my skin and I am HORRIFIED (but not at all surprised) about the skin reactions caused by the cream in the SSB box.

I'll stick to my natural products and pray that the other boxes continue to work with Balance Me etc.

The other good thing about Amarya is that it doesn't come in a fancy box. I'd rather have a more expensive product without a posh box than have them factoring the cost of the box into how much they charge each month.

Also, my incurable hoarding instinct forces me to keep the fancy boxes and this irritates hubby. He has forced me to agree to a clear-out of the spare room this Summer because it is full of things I can't bear to chuck in the bin. First to go will probably be the beauty boxes! :rotfl:

Amaryas my favourite too. I liked the LuxBox, but love natural products, and always prefer quality over quantity.

The JolieBox profiling came up for me upon registering, but still appears somewhere in my account area. I will look.

I was looking at this thread about beauty boxes on this forum (post 8), and am now intrigued by the Betrousse Organic Box (think there are different sorts).

    I am so tempted. :o:D

Eep, sorry Purplebutterfly, I think a lot of your post was aimed at me. Sorry if I spoiled your surprise but I had already seen someone else mention the product I'd received so assumed everyone had got theirs :-( I won't do it again. In future I'll do it in white text *slaps wrist and looks sorry*.

Also didn't twig we weren't allowed to trade, so apologies for that, I read all of the pages and probably read that but just forgot by the time I got to the end. This seems a shame as it's certainly a way of money saving but I guess the MSE peeps don't want to be responsible for us getting stalked if we give out addresses to the wrong people etc! I looked at the Beauty Box trades FaceBook and I couldn't see anyone actually posting offers of things they wanted shot of so assumed it wasn't used much. If anyone could PM me good places to look for people who do want to then that would be awesome.

Also, with regards to box hoarding... your partner needs to understand that this is not something which can be stopped, it's something which ought to be encouraged! Just ensure that your storage technique is well-polished - a Joliebox inside a Glossybox inside a She Said Beauty box should keep storage room to a minimum? I unfortunately don't seem to be able to hold on to them for more than a week as they either get used for storing something which looks less fun than the box or they get used for sending something cool to someone equally as cool!

Sorry again for the rulebreaking and ruining your surprise.xxx

I haven't had a profiling email from Joliebox so I've emailed them about it. I cannot, for the life of me, find a profile section on the site but if anybody wishes to point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful!

I found this yesterday! Do these things:
Log in to your Joliebox account
Click "My Subscriptions" (on the left)
(There will be a grid that comes up with these headers: "Box" "State" "Shipping Address" and "Payment" along the top of it)
(Above the headers for the grid are orange headers - the middle one is your one)
Click "Edit beauty profile for this subscription"

If there's a different profile that is more detailed, I haven't found it although perhaps many people hadn't filled one in at all so they sent the reminder? If you filled one out at the start perhaps they didn't think you needed to. I don't know. Hope that helps anyway :money: xxx

LP87 I honestly wasn't aiming anything at anyone, I promise. I put it all in big, red text so that it would get noticed really - not because I was throwing a hissy fit! :rotfl:

It is going to be nigh on impossible to prevent spoilers - I'm quite lucky because my boxes always come late otherwise I'm sure I'd be accidentally spoiling it for everyone with my big mouth! :o

As for the swapping rule - I got pulled up about it on the Grabbit board by one of the moderators.

If anyone knows how to set up a group on Facebook that can be linked to this thread, please go ahead and do it.
I can just about manage to log myself in to FB and click on thecomping links I am sent ,so there's no way I am going to try to set up a group.

Otherwise, a quick PM with an email address is your best bet. ;)

Thanks for the Jolie Box profile info. I realised that I couldn't access my profile because I had suspended my account after paying a one-off payment for the birthday box. I reactivated the account, checked my profile and it was all completely filled in! So now I look like an idiot to whoever opens my email. Typical!

I only signed up to it because it was a fiver with that code. Telling me that the box contains "French brands" is hardly a major selling point. Maybe French beauty brands were the best 100 years ago but now if you want truly futuristic beauty produts, you want to be looking at Japan and Korea.
