    I've been Money Tipped!
I keep forgetting which box I've had and when the next one is due - I must start making a list on my calendar!
Got Amarya today and love the cleanser - to be fair it's worth £22 and they never promised to be a box like GB or JB - just full sizes and samples occasionally so I'm happy :)

Sounds like a mixed reaction to your Amarya boxes this month? I've been umming and aghhing about subscribing to it.....I will wait and see as I don't like to have more than 2 on the go at once.

Did everyone get an email from Jolie yesterday asking you to fill out a new beauty profile because the birthday box will include one item tailored to you? Does anyone know when these are due for dispatch?

cookinmummy - I got the email from Joliebox, have filled in the profile. Can't seem to find out when they're being posted though, best bet would be to keep an eye on their FB page.

Note to SSB subscribers from April -

I'd read people were having reactions, I never normally do, but tried a (big) patch test first and my skin was burning red in no time!

cookinmummy - thank you for the reminder to fill out my Jolie profile :)

Rose - goodness me! I hope your skin is ok now. Thank you very much for the warning - I was saving these sachets up as a treat

I'm not feeling the beauty box love. Still no Amarya box, although I haven't seen my regular postie for days, so is perhaps why. My post is normally quite prompt. :(

I will avoid this thread next time a beauty box is about, as inadvertently know what it might be. (I haven't peeked at the whited areas!).

I will be pleased if so, as could do with one, as the current eye ones I have (including the bliss one from the amitee box), makes them sting. If I'm correct (with my guess), it makes the value of the box comparable with the last, just a couple of £'s difference.

    I hope I get mine Monday. :)
New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!

Hi guys, I've just spent about 2 days (I've been off sick from work, so that isn't an exaggeration!) reading this thread. I've giggled, I've agreed, I've got the ol' green eyes and now I've reached page 31 I thought I ought to reply!

I subscribed in a fit of loneliness when away from my family on my birthday (April 30th) to Glossybox, She Said Beauty, Joliebox and Amarya.

    Glossybox:
My first Glossybox arrived before the following weekend (really quick!) and I was impressed with the products.
The full size Inika lip liner wasn't something I'd normally use but looks great with my more muted every day No7 Pink Lemonade and Plum Beautiful lippies. Not so great with Mac Russian Red but hey. Maybe next time!
I got a full size Figs & Rouge lip balm (or lip bum as my nephew calls it) but I can't remember what flavour it was... possibly mint? My Mum nicked it. She pretty much gets first dibs on anything in my beauty boxes. Or anything I buy. Ever. She tried to steal my cardigan this weekend and she lives 200 miles away.
I got a little Caudalie serum (dismissed by Mum because she said she'd need a bucket of it after it sank in showing no sign of moisturising practically before she'd touched her face with it), some reviving mist (big big bottle, not really my thing but got swiped by Mum nevertheless so I wouldn't have got a choice!) and a little tube of Phillip B gel or something. I wouldn't use that as my hair is very fine and just looks lank with any of that but olderbrother walked past just as we were talking about it so he's had that one.
I was quite impressed with April Glossybox. The box was nice, there were 3 full size products in mine, all pretty good value. Plus the actual box is lovely!

May's Glossybox didn't impress me quite as much. Suffice it to say that it's currently sat on top of my record decks, addressed up ready to send to my Beauty Therapist aunty to see what she thinks. The products are much more skin-related, far more her thing than mine. I prefer cosmetics. In this one, I was sent: Nobe Isle summer rising bath and shower gel. I probably would have used it once the other 90,000 gels I have ran out and it smells nice enough but I shan't miss it. Lolita Lempicka Eau de Parful & Si Lolita. This perfume smells vile. Too overpowering and reminds me of the ones that I used to make when I was very young and someone bought me a perfume making kit. I'd just as happily rub vinegar on my neck. At least then I'd taste nice. This said, perfume wise I tend to wear things with jasmine and tiare flower or sandalwoody fragrances so on someone else's skin (probably my aunty's) it will smell amazing.
    Apvita Express Beauty Masks. Next.
Berber Oil Hair Treatment. OK this I'd probably use, although I thought The Aunty would probably like to receive the whole box, rather than my dregs. I'm nice like this. I love Argan Oil so I'd probably be happy to receive this kind of thing in another box. I buy my Argan Oil from a beauty wholesalers though and love the smell too much to switch brands.
Eldora false eyelashes. I don't do false eyelashes but if I did they wouldn't be like these. I go for the 50s makeup style, flicks and red lips, so the ones I was sent (big bushy lashes) really aren't for me. I expect that these will make their way to the lovely receptionist who would look gorgeous in them!
The packaging was so cute for a birthday special and I was really excited about this but it's all down to personal preference I guess and this wasn't for me.
Something that really irks me about Glossybox is that they use Hermes. Hermes regularly just chuck things anywhere and love to chuck it "over side gate". I live in a first floor flat and don't have a "side gate" so this regularly means either begging my downstairs lovely neighbour who is 80 to go along the slippery side path so that she can get it as it's HER side gate or climbing through my garage and essentially trespassing on to her property to get the Hermes parcel...

Men's Glossybox: Bought for my brother. I loved it, he loved it. All samples great. Hair fudge, shaving cut matchsticks, really cool and gimmicky. He was chuffed. I was jealous - enough said!

    She Said Beauty:
May's one was great. I loved it. There was only one product I gave away (to lovely tanned Aunty) as it was a bright coral lipgloss from Inika. It smelled lovely but I am very pale with a cool complexion so it really wasn't my colour. There were some false eyelashes from a retro style brand which were to my taste as they'd go well with the makeup style that I do, some sunscreen (only factor 15 but just soaks in without a trace, I would love some in factor 50!) a Kym Kardashian roll on perfume... Smells very strong in the bottle but once on is nice and quite subtle on me. Smells good and handy size. There was a full sized soap (meh but ok) and some little sachets of cream which were nice enough. All in all - not bad!

June: I have to be honest, I was a little underwhelmed! This stuff would probably have been awesome on someone a little older than me with a darker skin tone.
There was some Elemis bath elixir which smells pretty nice, lets go lashes. OK, third set I've been sent in 2 months but they're a nice shape and thickness, St Tropez spray tan in a can... I live in Essex. I don't fit in. Because of my skin tone I can only see this making me orange. Nude tights make me look orange... I'll try it. I've heard good things :-)
Yardley perfume... I don't like. Mum swiped it. Mum's welcome to it. That said she manages to smell nice in Versace White Jeans (which she swiped off me after I said it smelled like gone off milk and now goes for £40 a bottle on eBay. D'oh!) so she is very different to me. I received the Mischa Barton cream, which I was pleased with as it smells nice, although I hope it doesn't serve to turn me in to a miserable whiny brat who is ungrateful for her fame... (I'm sorry, it's been a long week. I'm not normally this horrible) I know I would not have used the handcream and I'm pretty certain a certain Mother would have nicked it. They also chucked in a BB cream sample which I love the idea of but it was too dark and made me look a bit too much like that girl on Emmerdale.
I've been fairly pleased with She Said Beauty and will stay subscribed to them.

    Joliebox:
This was a pretty "meh" box for me. I received a makeup brush (not bad), a tiny RMK primer (I've been thinking about getting primer but it is very small), a fullsize purple glittery China Glaze nail polish... OK - this would probably have been awesome if I didn't have a way more awesome nail polish collection from my stint as a manicurist but it's not my bag and will probably go on eBay. I would have much preferred to get Nubar or OPI but hey. It's a nice thought. Organic rose moisturiser. Interesting wildcard - under eye patches. Very cooling, quite nice, feel weird. They're reusable though so that's quite exciting. Gives me a chance to see whether they bring me up in massive blemishes!

    Amarya:
Really disappointing. Subscribed on April 30th, received first box on June the 8th. I unsubscribed as soon as I received this but was really dismayed to find that they'd already taken a second payment. I have emailed them and I have cancelled my recurring PayPal payment as I found I could not log in to the website to cancel it on there but I have a feeling I'll still get stuck with the second box. I have seen others have received the same as I. One full sized product which isn't something I would use and two freebie sachets which are also things I won't use. BB cream that's too dark and anti aging cream (I'm 25 and have the skin of a 12 year old). Very disappointed :-(

All in all I'm sticking with SSB and Glossybox for now. I'm giving Joliebox another month's try (as I'm hoping they send me a lipstick) and I've cancelled Amarya. If anyone wants a swap for my fullsized Amarya product then I'm all ears!

Hope that didn't bore you too much. Enjoy your boxes!xxx

I'm quite enjoying my SSb boxes although I have no use for the Elemis (no bath) or the lashes. Anyone up for a little swappy?
