I spent yesterday evening organising my toiletries. I've always kept the Soap & Glory stuff together, the Body Shop stuff together, etc, and all in little tubs. In fact I've been decanting things into my empty beauty boxes for months now. I gathered it all together and sorted by haircare, skincare, body, etc. I had so many unopened body washes and body lotions they each fill a tub the size of a laundry basket!!! I've used one of my sons old toyboxes just to store shampoo and conditioner bottles. I have some that must be 7 or 8 years old and I've no idea if they're even still safe to use.

I'm totally horrified with myself. I think I'll have no need to buy shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, moisturiser, etc for about five years. Because it was so scattered around the house I had no idea how much I had. I thought we'd run out of toothpaste and bought some more, only to find I now have two beauty boxes full of unopened toothpaste!

I got a flyer through the door asking for unused toiletries so I'll fill a bag (or three) for them, but I'm really going to have to stop buying toiletries from today. I have my GB and SSB subscriptions running for three more months and I signed up for the Beauty Bible trial, but after that - no more!!!

You sound like me! Last year I sorted though my stash and took over 100 items into school (I'm a teacher) to share with my colleagues - a little random act of kindness! They were absolutely thrilled! :) Now I still have quite a stash but it's of my "essentials" such as Decleor skincare and Elemis body products! The problem I have is that I have a HUGE family and get bought so many toiletries every Christmas/birthday!

  • Lux box is AWFUL. I am so disappointed. Also, they have charged me twice for it and than have taken another payment today for the September box which is supposed to be cancelled! Phone number rings out, e-mails not answered. I have a bad feeling about this.

How do I cancel payments with my bank? I've read on facebook that Luxbox have continued taking payments for months after people have cancelled without sending boxes.
So sorry I recommended them now earlier in this thread.:(

I was very close to signing up with Luxbox but they didn't reply to my query on FB despite saying they'd get back to me so I didn't get round to it - pretty glad I didn't now!!!

It's a group of us that are trying to use up our toiletry stash. It's a really lovely group :)

I was pretty disappointed by Lux Box as well. I've really enjoyed every other box though, so I shall stick with them for at least one more.

I think that they forgot to put the info cards in but here is a link to all the info/prices. It made it seem better value at least :rotfl::

Hopefully they'll be better/more organised next month.

I didn't get an information leaflet either, I'm pretty sure we usually do.

    I'm not impressed.
Information regarding one of the items below:

What is the small pot of moisturiser? Is it a face one or a body one, 'Unique' isn't really helpful... I'm fairly certain this is face moisturiser as its showing on Lux Box website as:

So versatile that you can use it as a day or night cream - it perfectly compliments any makeup and is designed to leave your skin feeling soft, fresh, comforted and nourished.

They sent an email today saying:

    Hi Lovely Luxies,
Due to the delay with our August LuxBox (we're ever so sorry about that) and the Limited Edition LuxBox coming soon we won't be sending a standard September LuxBox. Any payments that have been taken for September have been refunded and it will be business as usual next month. If you have a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription this won't affect the number of boxes you receive. We apologise to everyone who will miss their LuxBox suprise - October will be here before you know it.
You will have noticed the insert is missing from the August box (this was causing some of the delay) we have posted all the product information on the LuxBox website.

Finally got my replacement Joliebox and it was worth the wait. There's not one thing in there I won't use. Probably one of my favourite boxes I've had. I have to say, I know some people have had problems, but I can't fault their customer sevice at all. One of the products was a replacement, but I was more than happy with it as it's something I haven't tried before, unlike the original one.

Still no sign of Amarya though, and waiting for my Beauty Bible package - had an email last week with an update, so hopefully not too long now.

    I finally got my Luxbox:
I did not think it was that bad compared to Shesaid or glossy. Its a shame that the card detailing the products was missing (but I know the details are on the website so will have a loook later)
The product I do not understand is hair pomade. The main ingredients is petrolium (vasaline) I have no use for it whatsoever.
But I think all the rest are useable. I'm not a fan of facial oils as they don't suit my skin but the rest I will use.

I have actually have been using up my body products stash and have done very well on the using it up front. I have a real problem with Lush products and have used up, given away over half my collection in the last 7/8 months. I still have several places I store my products but I am learning to control the need to buy.

I have a box in my spare room for a charity that wants beauty products.I put in it anything I am not going to use or have more than 1 of. 1 Lux product is already in there and I will send it of probably at the beginning of next month.
  • Did everyone get different Betty Hula items then? As I didn't get a face oil, I got a tiny sample of moisturiser.

I didn't even get an email about them not sending out Septembers -never get any emails from them, TBH the only reason I haven't cancelled as people are saying that they are being charged and not getting sent anything... :( Never sign up to something that's not a DD again.

Still no sign of LuxBox for me. They have taken payment for one, but haven't yet for the other two I've received, despite emailing, and leaving an answering machine message.

I want to pay up so I know where I am with them, as have liked receiving their boxes so far. I will wait, and see if this months turns up, then will try yet again to contact them, as want to be clear about what is due.

I'm signed up for their luxury box (a birthday treat to myself) which has been paid in full, thankfully!

I have never been able to get hold of anyone, apart from a missing item in my last box which I am still trying to pay for. I do not want to run up a huge bill with them; I just want to pay for each box as it comes out. I know they have struggled with demand, and are a good quality box. I've peeked at the spoilers, and this months box although not their best is fine for me (if I get it!).

I'm seriously debating cancelling, as am not comfortable with the current situation, but do not want to get charged for boxes I haven't received. Beauty boxes are supposed to be an inexpensive teat, not bothersome.
New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!
