I'm resisting the Amarya spoilers, as I'm hoping it'll be here tomorrow, but I'm most intrigued by the smilies I can see in your hidden post, Purplebutterfly! :rotfl:

I tried leaving them out but it just wasn't the same! Honestly, it's not that intriguing, it really isn't. :D

  • My Luxbox is finally here!
    1. Inika Certified Organic Eye Liner, RRP £11.75. This is a great bargain and I know that Inika are a really popular company, so I do see this going down well with people. It would with me too, if I hadn't received it in Peacock Blue! I'd look like a clown if I tried. I'm gutted, as I really want to use it but it's far too bright.
    2. Gatineau Essential Skin Corrector, 15ml. Nothing special, an anti-ageing moisturiser. I'll use it, see what it's like but I doubt I'll buy it at it's RRP of £69.
    3. Magnifibres Brush on False Lashes, RRP £20. These are a bit... weird. I tried them out already since I was doing my make-up when the postie arrived. You're supposed to use this inbetween two coats of mascara, to give you 'instantly lengthened lashes'. It goes on like lots of little white fibres, it looks quite peculiar. Like I said, I used it, and saw absolutely no difference :rotfl: Maybe it's something that needs practice!
    4. 2 little samples of Gold Caviar BB Cream - Yay, I love BB creams at the minute. I have at least 8 samples that I need to get round to using, and I love having new ones to try.
    5. Yana Foundation sample - This doesn't really work on my skin, but then, no foundation does. The colour is a really good match, it just looks patchy and peels off. This is what my skin always does though, so it's not the fault of the foundation.

All in all, not too bad. There's one thing I really like, one I'm interested by and one I'll use up :)

    My Lux arrived too
not at all impressed. The fibre lashes are nothing new, I had the Talika ones in 2006 and they were far better quality than these ones but still didn't work! Plus, if you wear contacts or have sensitive eyes, the fibres can sometimes irritate.

The Inika eyeliner is lovely - I got shade Peacock which is a beautiful metallic blue - unfortunately I have so many Urban Decay liners in so many colours that this will probably get lost amongst them. Elegantly Wasted, try using it on your lower lash line over the top of a thin line of black. You'll get the whitening effect of the blue without it looking OTT

The BB cream samples are no use to me - I've tried the really good Korean ones in the past as well as the "copy" ones from the likes of Garnier and I just don't get it at all. I prefer a really good daytime moisturiser followed by either foundation or a layer of tinted moisturiser, there just aren't enough active ingredients in a BB cream to replace my normal daytime cream.

Gatineau Melatogenine cream - this is probably the big selling point of the box for a lot of people as it is such a well-known and hyped up cream. However, Alison Young never managed to persuade me to try it in all the time I religiously watched QVC and that was before I switched to all-natural products, so I'm not going to try it now.

The Yana foundation. THIS is what I actually bought the box for. I will try any foundation that offers something pale. Sadly, this foundation oxidises within 5 minutes of going on my skin and turns an awful peachy-orange tone. It also sits in lines and pores and turns powdery on the surface, it is just awful. I was really annoyed when I first opened the pot because it wasn't even half full but it turns out that the little plastic pot is the best thing about this sample.

WHEN will I learn not to buy any more beauty boxes???? It is entirely my own fault - I have so much make up and so many toiletries that I'm only ever going to be disappointed or end up with dupes.

I am sticking with Amarya and finishing off my bargain 6 month SSB subscription and that's it. Consider my fingers well and truly burned!

My PO card was for Amarya. It felt very light, but am pleased with the contents. I got the same as everyone else, with these variations of the same product:
I got the Neom room spray in Sicilian Lemon. Perfect to get rid of fishy kitchen smells, haddock does stink! :D I may think about buying as is a clean, fresh scent.

I got Cowshed bath & shower gel in wild cow (invigorating). It will come in useful when travelling. Unsure whether I would buy though. It smells nice, but will wait until I've tried.

I love the Pomegranate active night plus, and the Santaverde product, as am still enjoying using the face-wash from a previous box. My skin feels good from using night serums, so always good products for me.

Worth it for the £10 paid. :)

I received a free Syrinx Za, Deep therapy cleansing bar yesterday from a giveaway, which i'm looking forward to trying!

No Lux for me. They haven't been taking payment, despite me querying with emails/phonecalls (no reply whatsoever). so goodness knows whats happened. A shame as would have liked to receive!
New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!

    Lux Box!

    PurpleButterfly - that's such a shame :(

Oddly enough it is (maybe) a good box for me.

I love the Peacock Blue eyeliner. It's so smooth and it's a great colour. :jI have lots of UD ones as well but nothing in this shade. PB - your suggestion to Elegantly Wasted was great - I'm going to try that as well :)

I've never tried any Gatineau products and I love trying new moisturisers (much better than getting a cleanser!) It's a good size too :)

I'm somewhere between Elegantly Wasted and Purplebutterfly when it comes to BB Creams - still curious, so happy to see samples, but also not convinced they're the best thing for my skin.

The foundation is a good colour match but feels very drying (on the back of my hand) and foundations often oxidise on me so I'm not overly hopeful about this. Interesting to try though & great to have a customised sample.

I'm excited about the Magnifibres :j I had a sample of a similar product by Jane Iredale that I love so I like the idea of these in theory. I wouldn't have shelled out £20 on a whim so I'm glad to have the opportunity to try this. Yay!

Really, I'm quite a happy little bean about this box :)

A big THANK YOU to the person that posted about the REN sets being reduced on Asos. I resisted the big offer of the rose oil and scrub (via REN) and went for a more modest option - a travel set of Moroccan Rose Body Cream, Moroccan Rose Body Wash and Neroli and Grapefruit Body Cream and Neroli and Grapefruit Body Wash. All 50mls. The box is beautiful (it's one of the Christmas wallpaper boxes) and at £10.50 it was intended as a replacement for the Amarya box this month. I love it :)
  • Thanks for the tip, purplebutterfly! I would thank your post but the buttons never show up for me =/
Those magnifibre lashes things are awful. I looked in the mirror a couple of hours after using them, and they'd flaked ALL over my cheeks. Not impressed at all.

Despite not being a current subscriber I was invited to the Jolie Soiree(by Joliebox) tonight but had to decline the offer as it was starting 2 hours before I'm due to finish work.
