Well strike that last post. Finally heard from the lady who runs the office and the job no longer exists. The woman who was leaving has changed her mind and is no longer moving on so therefor no more job...Hurumph!
I did go and look round a school the other day for a TA job but it was advertised as 25 hours but the expectation was that you would arrive at 8 and work til 12, then have lunch til 1.15 then work til 3.45. Well I don't know about anyone elses maths but to me that is 6.5 hours a day so should be 32.5 hours a week, not 25...am I missing something? Bit cheeky I thought.
Still looking for a term time job and between now and then I'm just getting on with it. So bored at work though!
Other things to do...Aldi shop today, using my £5 off voucher so as I probably won't spend £40 i'm taking a friend with me who needs a few bits, hopefully this will top it up enough to use the voucher and she gets a free door to door with her shopping.
Also investigating new ISA's to move the existing ISA to soon.
Have a good day all and keep smiling x0 -
Sorry to hear the job didn't work out. Hope something better comes along soon0

Thanks guys. Feeling pretty hacked off with it all.
Going to start another application tonight for a Teaching Assistant job at my daughters nursery. Not sure I really hit all the criteria but I figure I have to throw my hat in the ring otherwise I'll never get anything. I'm so bored of it all at the moment.
Anyway, onto nicer things, had lovely lunch out today with a friend, really good catch up. Always feel better once i've seen her.
Thanks Jodles. I sort of forget that people might actually read my ramblings
I think we do ok most of the time, I just wish we could ditch the mortgage faster. It's such a huge portion of our wages and I would love it if we no longer had to pay it...*goes off to dream*

Right, back from my daydream and I have a day off and am child free so want to try and have some relaxing time and also get some jobs done. Time for a list I think...
Jobs
- [STRIKE]Washing and drying[/STRIKE]
- Put clothes away
- Hoover through downstairs
- [STRIKE]Sort and clean kitchen food cupboards[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Make meal plan (trying to use up what we have, minimum food shopping allowed this week)[/STRIKE]
Relaxing
- [STRIKE]Bathe and wrap hair in conditioner[/STRIKE]
- Treat myself to a home facial
- File and paint nails
2pm update. Not too bad, decided as I was doing the cupboards toalso do the oven, fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster so didn't get time todo my hoovering but hey ho. Settling down now to watch tv for half an hour and eat some crumble. Meal plan mostly done, funny how you forget what you have got, so minimal shopping list is completed. Think I might pick up little one from nursery in the car as the weather is horrid and might combine doing that with picking up the shopping x0 -

My mortgage to income ratio is similar to yours, ecoelle..I too feel that I want the kids to have the same things as their friends and striking the balance is difficult.
I try to overpay but not doing as well as I should. The maths says I should be able to put £300 as OP but I always dip into it for the kidsMortgage 22 years £190,419 at 2.84% fixed for 2 years from 1st July 2014
Mortgage 21 yrs 6 mths £186,059 as of February 2015
Mortgage 20 years 7 months £178,644.68 February 20160 -
Alright Dudes.
Well, grumpy bum is back. I am posting a few figures, not for anyone except myself really, just trying to get my head around it.
Monthly Income
£400
£1350
£1750
Standing Order £ 125
Direct Debits £1000
'Envelopes' £ 400
Food £ 220
£1745
Ha Ha...ok, the idea is that any overtime we do, basically anything I earn over £400 and anything hubby does over £1350 goes into a separate account to then allow us to try and pay for the work we need to do on our house.
We need a new boiler and heating system, we have already saved the money for this. Then we need to plaster and decorate through the whole house, New carpet, new furniture, then the garden.
So At the moment it stands like this...
House fund £0
Well that was easy x0 -
Welcome back ecolleMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Thanks newgirly. Been gone a while but I need to focus. My main source of income at the moment is 15hours a week in a shop. On top I do a bit of overtime as and when it suits and some relief Teaching Assistant work as and when I get called upon. So basically the idea is if we can cope with £1750 then anything extra should go into the house fund. I think it'll make more sense next week when we have been paid. My plan is that on Monday I will transfer the £500 we need into Santander to get the cashback, but I only pay the DD from there which earn me interest so the remaining £245 can come back to the main account. Then all the other DD go out, the stuff we pay for with cash can come out and then anything left (ha ha) can be for the house.0
