It wasn't easy Devine! :rotfl:I've told him that within 6 months I'll prove this is a viable business, hope I haven't set myself an impossible challenge!

Can you post the link to your blog so we can have a nose? Sorry if you've already done this and I've missed it.

On the FB side - sorry for all the questions but it's nice to find someone who knows this stuff! - are there online groups you can join then once you have your own crafty page? :)

Hello crafterites :) I'm just sitting in a lovely cafe with oh who is talking fish on the phone as usual so thought I'd check in on my phone for first time ever lol. I am the ultimate multi tasker and challenge queen these days hahahahahha don't know how I juggle so many things either. Will check in later with fb links etc as can't quite figure out how to do that on phone! X x

From experience I would say six months is a tall order. I've been trading for five and I'm not able to take an income from mine yet. That does of course depend how much you want/can invest financially. Don't give up though. If you believe in what you do you will succeed. It's a lot of hard work and I'm finding myself work a good 14 hours a day most days but I absolutely love what I do.
There are lots of pages on Facebook where you can show off your wares. Some of my favourites are UK Mums Who Make, The supermums craft fair and Kirstie's Handmade Britain.

Vintage- I'm a bit worried about your body stuffing. Is there something we should know?!

Had a less productive day today. I spent 7 hours on the internet and started crafting at 4. I'm making excellent progress on the photos nd have them all stuck down now, I just need to do the frame (I've put a guide in my blog about how I'm doing it). Unfortunately a blip in my health this evening stopped me in my tracks. I have a condition known as SPD which is very common, that is if you are pregnant, and I'm not. I've had it for 7 months now with little sign of it going and there's no cure. I find it hard to walk/sit/
stand and out of the house I use a wheelchair. A trip upstairs earlier resulted in me tearing some ligaments and I was stuck on the stairs! My boyfriend came to my rescue and carried me.
I would like to think my story says to people that no matter what your circumstance, if you want to do something enough you will find away to do it.

  • Thanks Fairy, if it weren't for my health I wouldn't have started crafting again as the last time I did it as a hobby was 7 years ago! You were up with the birds today and on a bank holiday too! I had a lie in until 8 (that's 4 year olds for you!) as my other half isn't working.
I'm hoping to finish the collage frame today although we are going delivering Easter eggs that the bunny left with us by accident! I'm looking forward to Sunday as my son has never understood it before.
I know exactly what you mean about withdrawals. I didn't craft for three whole days while doing the Lionbridge exams (which, by the way, I passed-hurray!) and it was weird. I couldn't wait to get back into it again. My list has now trebled . Have a good day x
  • Collage with fabric frame finished last night!! I've left it weighted down to dry overnight and I'm not up yet but from what I saw it looks absolutely amazing. And so it should after a good 12-14 hours work lol.
Will put pics up in a bit and I think because it looks so good I'm going to offer a it as a product whereby people send me their photos trimmed to the sizes they want and a colour scheme and maybe a maximum size and I frame them all. What do you think? I think the best way to work out cost is per photo even though they can/will be different sizes. I would do it differently to this way though so I need to find someone who wants it doing so I can practice and charge for materials only!
Happy Easter. I had a very very exciting four year old running round a bit ago cos he kept finding eggs that the Easter bunny had hidden! X

Happy Easter to you to :D wish the Easter bunny had hidden eggs here hahahahaha!!

Ohhhh can't wait to see your collage :) It sounds like a great product as well - might be an idea to offer a complete service as well because so many people have digital pics - would that be an option for you? Obviously you would need to cost in the printing as well then :D I'm also wondering why you would need to charge by pic rather than overall size of the frame? Especially if people are providing their own pics - i'm sure there is a time element - 12 pics would take longer than 6 to work with, but people seem to prefer simple and obvious pricing options i think.......not sure :rotfl:

Photo on Facebook and more detailed ones will be on my blog. I was thinking about doing a per photo rather than size because size can't be worked out until the photos are in place.
You've given me great idea with printing the photos so I'm going to have a go with my own and see what it looks like! Thanks Fairy :-) Saw your post on Facebook. Will have a nosy round your page tomorrow x
