I find though even if you just speak to the people on either side of you and say its your first time and you are nervous etc you usually get a good few tips and it helps to ease the anxiety. If they aren't chatty people try and walk around and admire other peoples work (genuinely obviously
) you will soon feel much more at ease xx
Thanks, Ill definately try that. My sister is coming with me, and she's fantastic at that sort of thing, she could talk to anyone about anything! :rotfl:0 -

I started off trying out patterns on knitting pattern central (website), until I got the idea of how a hat was made, after that it was easy enough to come up with the shape I wanted. The basics are simple - enough stitches to go round the head, then straight rows to either fitted beanie size, or slouchy beanie size, then decrease evenly over about 20 rows till you are down to about 5-10 stitches. Pull thread through the last stitches, pull tight and secure.
I use circular needles - no sewing up - and use thicker/thinner needles/yarn to make bigger or smaller hats0 -

Thant's great, thanks very much! I hadn't even considered rounding up the cost to the nearest pound! That will make adding up easier, and Ill need less change.
Thank you!0
