You can put a link to your etsy page on your profile I think - it's just links in threads that aren't allowed. Then when someone clicks on your name on a post in a thread, 'Visit sketchingkari's homepage!' will show as an option. I've got my shop set as mine.0 -
I'm baaaaack! I am just so busy these days that I can't keep up! There are some gorgeous makes in this thread now, everyone is so talented!
My business is doing incredibly well and I bought myself a decent sewing machine last week (I only had a rubbish mini one before) and that's it now, I am addicted to sewing with it! I've done lots of cushions (with button holes as well :-) ) and yesterday I made a pot holder. I have never made anything like that before and it wasn't perfect but I was very pleased. I intend to do some patchwork stuff too soon to use up the massie amount of scraps I have. By massive, I mean that I have 20kg plus of the stuff and I keep selling it off as well! I've been making so much recently that I seem to make scraps quicker than I can get rid of them, so I've even resulted to selling patchwork squares and fat quarters just to make space.
Other good news is that I am finally starting to get better. My last treatment is working so I can see an end to this disability and although it is quite a long way off yet, I am filled with hope. I have started looking into craft fayres more and intend to do one with my sister in law as she makes cakes etc. I've been eying up one that is fairly local to me and it is very difficult to get in to. Their selection criteria to sell is very strict but I'm hoping the uniqueness of my makes will get me a place. It's worth a shot as it is in a rich area which is also a tourist hotspot and it is free for customers so there will probably be a lot of sales. I'm also itching to get started with craft classes but I need to be back to full health first.
The other bit of good news is that this morning I have been told that I am going to be in Craftseller magazine. I'm soooooo excited! All from an email I sent in months ago about my struggle with business and disability over the last year. I also gave an interview to a blog called Handmade Harbour about running a craft business. A good read for those just starting out in business and I was really happy to be able to share what I've learned with others just starting out, because it's really hard to run a successful business.
To share a few things I've been making over the last few weeks I've included a few photos. The tiles wee for a huge order I got from a lady who was putting loads of different designs in with plain white tiles to make a patchwork effect that looked quite simply amazing.
Then I've been making some new pictures. I love these two designs, so shabby chic and pretty. Unfortunately they don't match the decor in my house.
And last but not least, here a couple of new light switch designs. I'm hooked on making these and am on the look out for a design to put in my lounge.
So that's my month in a nutshell really. Keep up the work with the amazing crafting. Everyone seems to really be doing well.

Hi, Im new to this thread. Hope you dont mind me joining
I have recently set up an Etsy account to try and sell some of the jewellery I make but find it all very slow and most of the time dont get any views at allBeen reading up on lots of SEO type things but there is a lot of competition with jewellery I suppose.
Heres a few of my makesMarried 30/08/14 :heartpuls0 -
Lovely makes Sazzarella. I have a Folksy shop selling cushions, bags, that kind of thing and find it really slow. Its hard to get the advertising for your page and being able to promote it properly0
