Hello and welcome to thistle ! I love that little doggy-it's so cute! I would never manage anything like that.
Sb-that bag is really nice and even the photo is excellent. I would say, don't hesitate. Get yourself a shop on Etsy or Folksy, list some things and see if they sell. Patience will be required but you can find out if they will sell for very little financial outlay. That bag is something I would buy.
Fairy- I've just looked up carers allowance but alas I don't qualify as I'm only on low rate care, much to my annoyance but when it was awarded I just figured there are people far worse than me and they have to have a cut off point somewhere. I think my childminder is going to stay for a bit after bringing my son home and help with tea and bed time and my other half is going to cook a meal on Tuesday so it can just be reheated. I think the worst part is going to be later into the night when I'm drugged up, and although I have people local, they're not likely to answer their phone at this time of night. At the end of the day, it's happening and I'm just going to have to handle it.
Despite an absolutely rubbish day with pain today to the point where even laying has been agonising, I have seen Darren's (the other half I keep mentioning!) sister and because she is crafty too (she makes cakes) she's great to bounce ideas off. I mentioned to her about me wanting to run a kids craft class once a week at a local children's centre that I hired for my sons birthday, probably for 4-6 year olds as there is little for them. That idea has now turned into something bigger and I would like to offer 5+ classes a week alongside my business after school and on saturdays for ages up to16. I plan on doing things like canvas painting, decorating photo frames etc with the younger ones and teach the older ones to sew and make their own clothes and accessories. I want to make sewing cool. There's not much for kids round my area so it would be great for the community. Obviously it will have to wait until I'm better but it will mean that if I don't return to work I still get out and meet people!
Anyway, bed time. Night! X0 -

I've just dropped in to say hi. My enthusiasm has gone again for making but it may come back later on. I just wanted to let you know that I have started a new blog about my disability, symphysis pubis dysfunction. I am channelling my frustration into writing today because I want to raise awareness about it. Maybe then, the doctors can research it more. It's very common in pregnancy, but I'm not pregnant, so that makes me a rarity. I met a doctor last week who deals with my condition regularly, although he said he's never met anyone who has been so bad they are in a wheelchair. He is the first doctor who actually understands the condition and he is one of only 10 in the UK. It has taken me 9 months to get as far as meeting him and it was only because my gp knows him as he only does NHS work for one half day a week, and he's the only doctor from Birmingham to the top of Scotland. I hope that by documenting my experiences, others will read it and push for treatment like I have. Had it been dealt with properly after having my son, the risk of having it now would be virtually none. I've also been like this for so long now that it is getting worse and therefore harder to treat.
If you would like to read it, or you know of anyone with the same condition and you think it would help them, the address is http://spdnopregnancy.blogspot.co.uk/ and I hope I don't get told off for posting a link!
Fairy, you're doing so well. Beccie, avoid Ebay like the plague. They removed one of my listings and cancelled three sales because the listing had "Cath Kidston" in the title! The fact that it was Cath Kidston fabric is apparently irrelevant. They're idiots and the sooner I leave, the better!
I'll pop by again soon x0 -
Hi beccie i got the order through my crafting group on fb
it is a group for ireland but i have had some requests to start a group for the uk so might just do that
SD i'm sure your crafting mojo will come back soon! we all have off days with it for one reason or another! I will def have a read of your blog - well done on taking the initiative with it! i hope it helps air out some frustrations for you xxx
crafting wise i managed to finish my second ruffle scarf yesterday and have now started another one - wool didn't turn up yesterday so should be here today! Am doing a bright pinky one atm so should have that finished later - at least i am getting some stock built up for the 2 fairs i'm booked in for next month
i also did some button embellishing on a bag which i want to continue on with today
good luck for today all xxxDebt at Aug 2010 (LBM) £21,908.86, Debt Freeeeee Date 4th Nov 2013 :j:j:j Massive Thanks to the £10 per day thread :A Next goals:Savings £1203.16/£10,000******Mortgage to Zero: £52,579.46 to go

Hi everyone,
I'm still here and I'm sorry to hear about everyone's illnesses and stuff. Hope you are all having a better day today.:o
I am seriously impressed with all the latest creations posted though - well done. :T
I'm afraid I am a bit of a crafting diaster at the minute. I have'nt made hardly anything whilst hubby is away In Australia. There again I have been having a bad few weeks - first my little girl hurt herself playing football - we thought she had broken her collarbone but after a good few housr spent in casualty we luckily found out it was just badly bruised. Poor little thing was in agony but she was very proud showing off her sling to her classmates!
Then just as I thought things could not get any worse we have just lost our little cat (who was 19) too old age. Tetley was the last of our surviving pets so we've all taken it a bit too heart.
I've not really felt like crafting much (I think the diasterous craft fair has knocked my confidence a bit!) but am determined today to crack on and get a few bits made in readiness for daughters birthday on Sunday.
I have managed to make a decorative letter for her. The letter was included in a bargain bag I bought a while ago at Hobbycraft. As it was'nt the initial for anyone I knew I racked my brains (although there is not a lot to rack!!!). I could'nt include a picture on here so have put a pic on my blog if you want to have a look (access via my homepage).
Hope you all think it ok xxMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Kirsty is back and she's found it in her to pick herself up, brush off the dust, and get on with it! Last week was horrendous, but I did get a Cath Kidston handbag, amongst other things, from my partner. He knows me well! I have started crafting again and have two more cushion covers waiting to be run through the sewing machine, with two more that I have sewn appliques on the fronts this evening. I've ordered more fabric from Cath Kidston (that woman makes me so happy!).
I've eight pictures to make tomorrow so can't wait to get cracking.
At the weekend we went to a place called St Leonard's Farm and I fell in love with a guinea pig, a baby rabbit and a kid (of the goat variety!). I wanted to take the kid home. It was using my fingers like a dummy and kept sucking them! He was cute though and ever so gentle. He even had the beginnings of horns. I had a fantastic day and even started tanning! Had to apply loads of suncream though because my skin isn't used to outside anymore. It's a very hands on farm and all the staff clearly love working there. We will go again for sure. I would visit tomorrow if I could!0
