Blog post up at simplydivinethings.blogspot.co.uk. I have included a recipe for some biscuits I made on Tuesday. They are sooooo easy and lasted less than 24 hours because they were some of the best biscuits I've ever had! You must try them if you can fit it in amongst crafting. It was the first thing I've baked in months, but felt up to it on Monday. I'm having a better week pain wise, but a threat of a court case from my ex (who is wasting everyone's time being an idiot) is taking up all my time, so not much else going on. Grrrr, he makes me so cross! Hope everyone else is ok x0

Ooh thanks ppb. I'll I have a look for her. I was looking at skirt how to guides last night. Just a simple one with an elasticated waist. I really struggled to understand them but that may have been because it was 11:30pm! I think I understood enough to give it a bash though. I'll try anything once lol.
I've started on a pair of cushion covers for my sister last to match the photo collage. It's her birthday on Saturday. This time I will get my sewing machine out! My other half said last night that he is worried I may have a sewing addiction. I said it replaces smoking as I stopped on New Years eve. I then continued wittering on about fabric cutting and he said "is that for your letter closure?". :rotfl: he meant envelope. Bless him, he was half way there! He's been the most supportive person I know about my business so I can't fault him. 18 months in and I love him more than I did in the beginning!
Off out shopping in a bit for some presents. May is a busy birthday month and it's mine in nine days too.0 -

I spent last night trying to teach myself to knit... I'm almost there with the basic stitch, casting on is no problem.. just need to try and regulate the tension as i keep doing them too tight or too loose!Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Thank you
I knitted as a child. I only knew the basic stitch. I did crochet with a little hook too. I see all these knitting patterns and finished products and think "wow, I wish I could do that" but never actually had the get up and go to learn again and probably won't. You'll have to keep us posted on how it's going.

I have no idea what i have been up to :rotfl: sleeping maybe LOL!
I did come across another box of half finished projects yesterday while looking for my crochet hookwas interesting to see what i had been up to
Came across a half finished bolero so decided to pick that up and knitted lots until i discovered it was the wrong way round- todays mission then is to see how much of it i can get done! Started with ripping back the muddled bit and a bit more so was starting at a rejoin part - thats the start of the second side. Would really like to get the main section finished today if i can

This may be a silly question....
do bigger knitting needles need thicker wool?
I was using 2.5mm needles and found it hard, so got 6mm ones and now it just looks awful!Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

It depends on the look you are going for ppb but generally yes. As a rough guide double knitting wool is usually knit on 3.5 or 4 mm needles to get a smooth type of finish - new wool sometimes has a needle guide on the label regarding size but if there isn't and you know the type of wool you have let me know and i can guide you re size of needles xxxx
Oh and if you are not wanting to go and buy more needles you can double the wool up to make it work better on the bigger needles...... though it does make it a bit harder to work with cos you have to make sure you are knitting both strands of wool at the same time!Debt at Aug 2010 (LBM) £21,908.86, Debt Freeeeee Date 4th Nov 2013 :j:j:j Massive Thanks to the £10 per day thread :A Next goals:Savings £1203.16/£10,000******Mortgage to Zero: £52,579.46 to go
