Thanks for all your kind words re the fair - i think i knew it was too soon as i have been avoiding booking myself into any more even though i have had the chance to for a few weeks. I have arranged to go to one at the end of the month but its with my mum so i know it will be fine to take a few of my bits but mostly her things so there is no pressure on me to make things for it - i will probably get more done that way! LOL!
Zepsgal - i can almost feel your excitement about the class and the buttons- i love it when someone gets the crafting bug
The £30 for knitting and crochet workshops sound terribly expensive - personally i would recommend trying to find a group in your area to attend - usually there is a small weekly fee to pay for the room but you will benefit from a lot of knowledge being passed on. You can even search for charity knitters groups who are very happy to help beginners in exchange for knitting squares for blankets etc.
I am hoping to do some instructional videos myself for the craftfaircentral website i'm developing as well - will keep you all updated about that side of things
Well i have managed to do virtually nothing so far today so am off to tick something off my list of things to do today!!

Well, I was talking to my next door neighbour last night about the knitting and crochet classes, turns out she can do both and has agreed to teach me :j
For free obviously lol, we are good to each other like that :rotfl:
Off today to buy needles and wool, think I will head to the local wool shop for some advise rather than Dunelm Mill where I would have to fend for myself haha
Will be taking my first lesson on Friday after work, keep you all updated woop!
Oh, and I bought more plastic self cover buttons to play with. DH says I'm not allowed to put them onto the cushions I make, after all, who wants something hard and jaggy in their face when they are lying on a cushion :rotfl: tried to explain that they would be on the back, but he wasn't having any of it lol
xCan't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
Good luck with your knitting and crochet lesson  which one will you be trying first? I've been knitting for years, but crochet has beaten me so far.
I have been watching Youtube videos all week though and have managed to make a few circles and squares, its a start lol
I have been planning my little crafting businesses a little more seriously this week and armed with a little start up capital made from knitting all those little EDF characters, I have today been on a bit of a crafty spending spree
Fabric, wool, dyes, beads etc etc are all on their way to me :T postie wont be too pleased lol
This is a little something I finished today:0 -

Hi all
Sorry if this is in totally the wrong place, but I couldn't find a relevant thread or place in the forum. Like you I have umpteen unfinished craft projects on the go (I'm a flitter!) and only manage one craft fair a year (which is the one I organise in my village in Hampshire). I see there's a thread for fairs in Northern Ireland, but is there any thread for fairs in the South of England, or just England? I'm looking for stallholders, not to advertise the fair. And it's run for charity, not as a commercial venture.
Many thanks

Lol, how cute are these...? :rotfl:
They look brill, love the way you've done the glint in the eyes, too. Very effective.:T
beccie, I learnt to crochet from youtube videos as well. I think bethintx was my main source of knowledge.Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0 -
Hi all. There's some lovely products on show here.
Zeps - I have a guide in my blog for fabric covered buttons with no costly kit involved. The link is on my profile page.
I have made good progress on part finished items and just have a part embroidered tea towel and my bits and bobs cushion to finish. I've made a cushion with a 20" x 20" piece of fabric and folded it like this.
The front looks like this.
I have made two more plaques.
I'm really into making these at the moment and have another nearly finished.
I shopped the Cath Kidston sale a few days ago and got lots of fabric and a little book of pins which I love! It's so cute!
I made a skirt too! I have never made any clothing before and I didn't use a pattern. I'll put a pic up soon.0 -
Hi all, just thought I'd pop in and say hello. I LOVE crafting especially making cards and plaques. Are any of you members of a craft forum that I could perhaps join.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--
