Ended up using loads of ingredients and had to send DH out for more supplies, (not good for the grocery challenge!). Had 2 step-daughters over for Father's Day and dinner was a disaster.
Everyone was polite and said it tasted great - even tho it looked terrible! My big Yorkshires were like dinner plates even though I made quite a few attempts. I'm determined to make them again so going to practice during the week. This thread has lots of info but it's all different and I've tried 1 egg, 2 egg, thin, and thick batters. Any tips gratefully received :D

I am hit and miss with yorkshires but have been using 110grm plain flour 150mls milk and 3 eggs and using a silicon bun tray for the past few weeks so far lovely fluffy yorkshire pud. I think the extra eggs help

I think it would end up huge because of the rising agents. My yorkies always end up huge anyway!

    NO-O-o-oooo !!!!

    Honest :)

SR flour just doesn't work with yorkshires. I don't know why (perhaps one of our resident superchefs does) - but believe me - I tried and it was 'orrible. With a capital 'o :)

Don't think it would work, its needs to be plain flour. If you give it a go let us know the results

might give it a go just for the 'experiment' of it. I also have some chapati flour........wonder if that might work better........just had a look at the bag, just says 'indian wheat chapati flour'........is that the same as plain flour??

When I was a student someone I know made yorkies out of chapati flour and yes it did work, just got some bits of wheat at the bottom of the yorkshire (if I remember rightly ;) ) but can I say he was very good at making yorkshires so I don't know if that helped.

I think SR flour would just ruin them - but have never tried!
