THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU GUYS!
My yorkies were a great sucess. I used 2 eggs, a cup of P flour and a cup of milk + S&P, whizzed with the hand blender and then left it for an hour. THen i spooned the mixture into a hot muffin tray with veg oil in it and into hot oven for half an hour (can only make vague guess of temp with my oven).
They came out great, well risen and crispy on the outside, the family loved them. Interestingly they were flat on th etop and I thought they'd gone wrong but they were hollow when I turned them round so looked right.
At a guess that cost 50p to make 12 and I've enough mixture left to make a few more tomorrow - we'll see if it lasts in the fridge o'n.
So thanks again you old stylers, I'd always thought there was some old alchemy to making them but there's nothing to it!Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -
nodwah the mixture may not rise tomorrow as the mixture has been left too long.
This mixture is the same as pancake mix so why not have pancakes instead.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

Hi tickb26,
Is the oven hot enough? If you could post your recipe maybe we can help more. In the meantime I'll have a look for other threads on Yorkshire pudding that may help.

Use plain flour, eggs and milk - leave the mix to stand for a while, then make sure that the oven is VERY hot and that the oil or lard is placed in the tray and put in the hot oven before you think about putting the mix in the tray, I use Gas Mark 80

Hi tickb26,
I don't know if there is enough fluid in your recipe as five mls of milk and water isn't a lot. Normally when I make them the amount of milk/water is the same volume as the flour....ie use the same cup to measure out both. I'd also add two eggs rather than one.
However, I'm not an expert with Yorkshire pudding so maybe it's best to wait until someone who knows more than I do comes along.
