Today is 3 years since I lost my grandad and it is my granny's 80th birthday tomorrow. She is going for a meal with my parents and youngest sister to celebrate, and then tomorrow when I finish uni at 10 I am going to drive over and bring her to Sheffield... She hasn't been here before and so I'm going to show her my flat and the sights of Sheffield... If anyone can think of any please let me know :rotfl:[/QUOTE]

    Hi Roz

It depends on the fitness of Granny. Is she relatively active for if so there are loads of lifestyle museums around Sheffield that she could certainly remember some things from, or would she prefer to have a drive around the Derbyshire countryside. Weather a bit mixed next week is it just for Monday or is she staying with you for a few days? If the weather is bad there is always Meadowhell!
This time of year is a bit rubbish for me and I get quite depressed so I may not be around much in the next few weeks. In a week or so, it is the 3rd anniversary of my best friend's death.

Why is it Roz that I have a piccy in my mind of your best friend sitting there looking down being very miserable and crying:A , because he can see you depressed and cutting off your friends here. He would not want you to do that would he?

I can understand your limiting your time here as I know you have work you must get done, and this thread can be very addictive IYKIM, but don't cut off from us. You had your good results, so now is the time to build on them and get your degree grade you want and dedicate that to the memory of him. I am sure he would appreciate that more and would let him :j :j

Smokeybabe Hugs I suppose I am very lucky that DH is not interested in the money side of things, and leaves them to me, but he is not a spender either. Though at times I fustrated with having to always make decisions. I am sure the DFW threads will help.

Scuzz, Blairweech ((Hugs))) - MATHS Congratulations

sahmx5 I would still be tempted to a personal approach Monday before the Head has woken up, not as easy to hide face to face, and I don't mean aggressively, only firmly. What has DS said about the claim, if you are like me you can always tell whether they are telling you the truth or not?

Me - well I'm just fed up of barking! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Better feed my DS before he to the squat (known as uni accommodation).

Birthday wishes/hugs/congratulations to anyone I may have missed.

Hi all, this is my first post but i've been lurking for a long time.
Well I was always very oldstyle and lived the mse way but when I spent nearly 6 months on bedrest with my last baby in 2005 it went out the window and just never found its way back, as I now have a 1year old, a 4 year old and a disabled 5 year old life is hectic so its been difficult to get back there. Well now is the time I have to get back to it as my mortgage is about to increase by 75k  with a house move and I am desperate for a new (second hand) car as all of us inclueding dh, 3 car seats, wheelchair, buggy and medical bits and bobs are bursting out of my poor punto.
So today I have made the cakes and cookies (last of the packets:o ) for dd and dh lunches and got the old cloth nappy's out of the loft although I might wait till we move before I use them. Other than that a lazy day with the kids and building myself up to tackle the cleaning tomorrow as the kids have just had half term so the house is a compleat state

  • Good Afternoon All

DLB - what a brilliant birthday that will be a great memory.

    Happy Birthday Rcddapp

(((Scuzz))) & (((Roz_v))) & anyone else who needs them.

    Congratulations to Math.

Sun has just come out here at long last, it seems to have been raining non stop. Have done a lot of ironing and more to do as the washing dries. OH cooked roast chicken and trimmings (I did gravy - he cant get the hang of that). DD has done all her homework and packed school bag, DS is chilling ready for kick off - Come on CHelsea!

Had a lovely day yesterday in France and Belgium, had some proper French croissants for bfast and a strawberry tart from france for dessert. Am also stocked up on Olive oil and Balsamic Vinegar.

Think will take the next couple of hours off before start ironing again normally do like watching the match but am halfway through a good book at the moment so think will have a lovely couple of hours reading.

Will be having some chicken sandwiches for tea followed by, hopefully, some yoghurt made in the Easiyo - its my first time. Admittedly cant see what could actually go wrong.

Anyway best get on - enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Thanks for all the hugs and wishes... they really helped :)

donny-gal - thanks for all your support lately :) Granny is active and fit, but lives in the Derbyshire countryside (over Buxton way) so we shall be having a drive through there when i collect her and drop her off!! She's only over for the day and when I spoke to her on the phone this morning she said all she was bothered about seeing are me and my flat  No pressure to get it clean and pretty then!!! As for meadowhell, i work there so really don't want to go on my day off!! And I don't think granny would like to go there.... honestly....

(((hugs))) crazychick for the next few weeks :) My granny laughed about the fact my grandad died the day before her birthday as he was Scottish and notoriously tight with his money, and she thought of it as his way of getting out of buying her a present

Not done a lot since my last post to be honest... Just having "snuggles" with OH on the sofa in front of a film as today is the first day in a long while that we're both home all day together. Best get a move on as I have a huge pile of ironing that granny will dissapprove of.....

There. I reckon that's one for each of you that needs one.

Today has been reasonably productive despite the sleepless night.

Dosed myself up with painkillers this morning and went to car boot sale then on to feed the ducks. Home for a big brunch and then the girls and I set about the baking. Have made 12 brownies, 16 everyday biscuits a la Queenie :A , 24 flapjacks and about 700 rice crispie buns.:o (well they keep the girls quiet while I concentrate on the rest. My oven is a bu**er so the brownies were too gooey in the middle of the tray so I have made a black forest gateaux type thing with them and a tin of black cherries and some cream.;)

Dinner is Chilli chicken pitta breads and salad.

    Then it's [STRIKE]Punishment time[/STRIKE] ironing. I HATE IT

Off to pop some more pills :D My back will regret all this tommorrow :o

Enjoy the rest of your sunday everyone.

    Haribo x

PS Welcome ifits Say goodbye to your former life. You're part of the [STRIKE]cult[/STRIKE] family of Old Style now.:D

HariboJunkie - you reminded me of the Black Forest Trifle we used to make with the tin of black cherreis as something different.

Enjoy your snuggles Roz. Well if that is the case Granny will be like my Mum doesn't care where she is as long as it is a different 4 walls she saw regularly (hers). Make her a cake ( or buy one if no time ) and just spend time with her and she will more more than happy.

Better check if the Apple Pie is burning!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Hello Everyone:j

I am not working this weekend:D , Hurrah. Took the children to Odeon kids club, £2.50 per ticket and adults go free. The movie was OK ( Zoom) but the kids really enjoyed it, a very pleasant morning indeed.

Just enjoying a cup of tea and then turbolisting starts... eBay here I come. The weather is still pleasant, just as well since our puppy had her first haircut yesterday, oh dear... We asked the groomer for a short haircut ( I hate the traditional Bichon Frisee haircut with a lion mane head) but she obviously heard sheared:eek: . You should see her, thankfully dogs have no concept of self image. Her fur is so short she looks like Jack Russell gone wrong.

If the weather turns cold, we do not dare to take her out in case she dies of hypothermia. Please tell me it grows back quickly. Oh well, better get on with the turbolisting. Have a great rest of the day.

That looks a nice BM pam, I like the way the blades retract, that was what I hated when I tried one once.
