    Morning Everyone

Had a very depressed weekend so far. Very down on myself at the moment. And lonely, which is where I think it's stemming from

Going to experiment for dinner, by cooking chicken pieces in a tin of mushroom soup, with some real mushrooms and serve rice and leek.

    Hope everyone's ok
Aw, sorry to hear you are feeling so down ((hugs)), loneliness is such a poor place to be but thankfully, you do have so many people on here you can 'chat' to - I know it's not quite the same thing though ((hugs))
Congrats on your 1000th post :j

I've made chicken in mushroom soup  Actually, Mr T's had a promotion on Campbells soups recently and I stocked up. A quick evening meal we enjoy is a tin of tuna plonked in a pan with a tin of (undiluted) Campbells - mushroom is good and so is the celery - heat through and serve with pasta/rice and steamed veggies. Quick, tasty and not too much washing up

Hope your meal turns out as scrumptious as it sounds and that your day gets brighter ((hugs))

MATH - how lovely to have your endeavours recognised :T I can see where you are coming from though, try not to feel guilty but enjoy the fact you are being given overt appreciation :D:D
Enjoy having your Mum & Dad for dinner ... most of us are having more traditional meals by the sounds of it ;):D

johanne!! :hello: Welcome 'home' :D Hey, your first Sunday and new freedom in your own place!! Bliss!!! Enjoy your fresh start

Well, just enjoying a bacon butty before I need to go and dry my hair .. although that might prove moneywasting as it's bucketing down outside and I'll only get all wet again

Don't think I'll be out too long this afternoon afterall, I really do need to spend some time going through the freezer and sorting things out and as tomorrow evening means putting the bins out, I really should get everything cleaned out. Bet you can now second guess my post for tomorrow :rotfl:

  • I never normally post on the weekend but I have a spare 10 mins before I crack on with the studying for the rest of the day!

Oh before I forget, I did have a message from Kaz when I logged in to say that she is OK and she was going to try and log in to catch up with everyone. :D

DLB - YEAH on your surprise. Hope you have a wonderful birthday

smokybabe - HUGS to you, hopefully you will get everything sorted

johanne - No hugs as requested but it's great to see how positive you are. Congrats on your first new house Sunday as well

MATH - Congrats on your award

scuzz - HUGS - hope you start feeling better soon

Right, plans for the day, WM currently on! It was either that or for this week I was going to have to go commando

Wait for the online shop to be delivered, Go over the extension plans, post my first ever meal plan on the meal planning thread and last but not least make a good crack at getting some of my assignment done. I'm starting slimming world again tomorrow so DH has got me making something for dinner I won’t be doing in the foreseeable future - toad in the hole :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a good day and as always take or leave the :grouphug: as needed.

P.S - Good luck to all of you getting little ones back to school tomorrow.
You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same

  • Hi All,
I havent posted on the daily thread for ages, mainly because I cant post from work. Bythe time I get on the computer at home its a bit late for a lot of old stylers, you are all such early birds.
Anyway, I have the next week off so hopefully you may see more of me!

My plans for next week are mainly spring cleaning related. I recently made a bit on ebay so my stock of things waiting to be put on there are low, hopefully the spring cleaning will throw up some more items.

This week I am down to the dregs of my grovery budget having overspent slightly earlier on in the month, so I have my meal plan and my baking cupboard is full so hopefully we wont starve.

    Plans for today are:-
    1) Ironing
    2) Tea later will be, shepherds pie - (its a huge fave in our house too!) followed by applie pie and ice cream.
    3) Any spare time, I will be cleaning out a few cupboards in the kitchen.

OH will be cleaning the cars (his favourite pastime, he has been known to do this in the rain!) and hopefully doing a bit in the bathroom which is in the process of being replaced at the moment, (OH is doing it himself)

DD's have homework to do, but not much else so no doubt they will be outside on their bikes later whilst OH cleans the cars.

This evening I will be making another X stitch christmas card, I am trying to make all next Christmas's cards rather than buying any, so all family ones will be x stitched, and I have already made my mothers day cards too.

No church for us this morning as its uniformed organizations parade, DD's are not keen on this, they like it when junior church is on, and its not today.

Have a nice Sunday, Johanne nice to see you back and MATH enjoy the reward. I know what you mean about not wanting any recognition, but it gives others pleasure to give it to you.
((((to smokeybabe))))) and everyone else who is in need of one.
  • Afternoon all. The BF has gone out for the day (mutal skills trade with a mate, he'll fix his mates computer, while his mate sorts out his car). So I have the house to myself :) Atleast today I can get on and do things without being acused of being obsessive.

dlb - your party sounds like it was fun, you have a lovely DH there.

hugs to smokeybabe, blairweech, scuzz, roz_v and anyone else that would
    like / needs one

groatie queen your holiday sounds lovely

twink - I know what you mean about people with manners, I'm still shocked when people say thankyou for holding a door open, or letting them go first !

tired mum - B&Q are terrible with kitchens, I used to work at head office (for all of 3 months) and some of the stories I heard from the customer service people about the fitters etc. All the best with the job hunting.

pantent girl - I hope dd's exam goes well for her

MATH - congratulations on the recognition.

Time to get on with some stuff. Going to tackle the loft, there's a few things that need to go up there (empty boxes to keep), so am going to have a bit of a sort out while I'm there.

    Have a good day everyone.

Thanks for the hugs everyone. Guess I'm feeling down as I'm approaching the second anniversary of being single. I've been on a total of 3 dates in that time, and been badly hurt twice by two people who led me on for their own gains. I won't give details online as that's not fair. And what with everything going on at home, I just feel my life's getting worse and worse

    Sorry off topic I know

    HI everyone.
    math well done
dlb It sounds like you had a lovely belated 30th, you have a lovely thoughtful OH there!
I am not getting much chance to post on here lately!
I had to take my kids to my mams to be babysat yesterday afternoon, while me and OH were at work, When I went to pick them up my mam had let them watch the dark crystal:eek: (they are only 2 and 3!)but apparantly they loved it(I'm still scared of that now!) and she said she had been teaching them letters (she has those magnetic fridge letters) but ds1 couldn't quite get the letter "M" right,
so I picked up the "M" and said "what's this"..........................................
ds1(3)= "mcdonalds" lol:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: he couldn't understand that "M" is a letter and doesn't just mean mcdonalds! bless!... As you can tell I have brought my kids up well! lol:o  :rotfl:
Then I had my biggest challenge...doing a full food shop with both of them in tow!
they were amazingly good though all they way round, so they got an 18p bath toy each! lol (very os!):rotfl:
OH has taken them bowling today, so we had a little argument over money, as it is my birthday next week and I wanted to keep some money left over to go out for sunday lunch at brewsters (so the kids can enjoy it) -if any one knows where to find some vouchers for brewers fayre it would be greatly appreciated.:o ;)
I hope everone is ok, and big hugs to those who aren't.

    Hi everyone.
Another busy day here. After bunging the food in the sc for our sausage casserole we went off to church and had 30 lively kids in sunday school!
I've got lots to do but I've got 17 items on ebay that end today so I'm hovering over the pc. I have some school planning, beds to change, ironing to do, baking biscuits with the kids, tidying around and I will attempt to read the paper instead of reading it next Saturday!

dlb Your DH is wonderful, organising all of that for you. Sounds like you all had a great time.

Math Don't be bashful, you earned it! When I'm in church I like to see people receiving awards, praise, etc. We humans don't praise each other enough!

Smokybabe Sounds like you're going through a really tough time at the moment.

Roz Sad anniversaries are hard to go through, but give us the opportunity to try to remember happy memories of those people also.

Hi all, just a very quick one from me as we're off on our trip to New Zealand tomorrow - though unless DH leaves me a bit more room on the suitcases he may have to go on his own as I'll have nothing to wear...

DLB glad you had such a lovely evening!

    smokybabe and RozV - ((((HUGS))))

MATH - congrats on your reward, I know what you mean about not doing it for recognition but you do deserve it and it's lovely that your hard graft was so much appreciated!

Johanne - glad you are okay, how nice to have you back! We missed you!

Although I don't manage to post on here every day, I do usually read the thread, and will be thinking of you all while I'm away - please take care of yourselves! (((((HUGS))))) to you all.

Ooh Racy, you'll be up to a lovely sparkly kitchen and no signs of a potential hangover to blur the vision either! Hope you slept well :D

Yes to the first but the second got scotched (literally :D ) when my neighbours arrived home from hols, full of life and duty free and saw that my lights were still on, we had a hilarious couple of hours.

Smokybabe (((hugs))) You have already been given loads of really good advice so all I'll say is that the recognition of the problem is the gut-wrenching bit, tackling it will hopefully help you feel a lot more positive. Chin-up ducks, you'll sort it. icon7.gif

Pink (((hugs))) you've had a rough time of it. We have to sort you out a treat or 2 ;)

(((Hugs))) to Scuzz, telling us why you are feeling down isn't off topic, we are your friends and care about how you feel hug.gif .

Welcome back Johanne and Sweetpea icon7.gif

Dogrose, I'm sorry for being so nosey but I have to ask, did the stir-fry end up in the dog or being worn as a hat?

dlb sounds like you had a fantastic time
    MATH Well done :T

I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday. I'm off for a trot round the park before it starts tipping it down again. I wanted to go cycling but I don't think my sore head will allow that

My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D
