Picked p an aquascutem coat for £29.99, gorgeous camel coat. Although its not on their website, it looks like it would have been upwards for £700 brand new. Coat is wool and cashmere mix! YipeeMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
I am not short of books to read thanks to the Healthy Planet shop . You can have 3 books for free each visit , it stops them going to land fill . I always return the books to them when I have finished reading them . They have a web site so worth looking to see if there is a shop near you0

Had a good day on Saturday:
D&G velour scarf with embossed Dolce & Gabbana and with the hologram on the label £3.99
Rocha John Rocha jersey tunic with sequins, I originally bought this as a cover up for the beach but after trying it on at home, I've decided it's perfect (with leggings) for Xmas £3.99
Bravissimo black jersey top (very flattering) £1.00
M&S 100% linen crops £1.00
Next soft T shirt £1.00
I did try on a pair of pearlised green leather knee high boots, leather lined, leather soled (obviously vintage) but they were just a bit too high for me - they were £1.00!
All from Age UK.
I did see a The Bridge handbag (which looked new) in BHF for £225.00 (YES! two hundred and twenty five)! :eek:0 -

Purple suede shoulder bag £2.50
Topshop taupe sleeveless cardigan £2.50
Jackpot brown fitted jumper £3.99
Per Una Fair Isle tank top (or sleeveless jumper), not sure of the current term! :rotfl: £3.75A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.

Bargain of the century today, a Berkertex wool coat for the grand sum of 25p!!!
That is brilliant, especially when I think 99p is good for all the clothes that I find in Barnadoes...
We have a British Red Cross, British Heart, YMCA too and those three are quite expensive on their clothes. Barnadoes are mainly shirts and t-shirts for men so if you find a coat or jumper that really is special.
As said yesterday, I found an extra large(I take large)mauve John Lewis 93%Lambswool/7%Cashmere jumper, I still bought it! And much as I would like to look around the larger charity shops in neighbouring towns when you add the bus/taxi fares you lose some of the savings.
And books wise I would buy more but the worry is if I have to downsize and am forced to what I buy will have to be got rid of again so it makes you cautious of spending un-necessarily and I have yet on my town to find any books reduced to less than £2 and that price is rare where I see some of you have found bargains at 80p.
But I do realise that charities have to make a profit otherwise there is no point having them."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Tried the jumper on and it will work I can always tack the cuffs but it is long and goes over my bum:rotfl:then again it will keep me probably warmer because of that and because it is a bit baggy."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Is there a thread where people can show off their thrifty charity shop buys?
Does anyone have any advice for buying mens clothing from charity shop - things to look for in particular, things to beware of, etc?
I bought myself a great pair of shoes a week ago, £3, they had no laces so total cost came to £3.50 and 2 minutes of fiddling0 -
Here you go: What is your charity shop bargain of the week?
I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the replies together.

I got a nice Evans top the other day, on the bargain rail for 99p - it had a mark on the back, but I thought if it won't wash out I can still wear it for my art class (I hate wearing anything not nice even when there's the chance I'll get covered in paint)! Luckily the mark washed out!
Picked up a good hb book from the library the other day just 10p - they had loads of good authors (books in surprisingly decent condition too) & books on tape.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
An unused-costs-£75-new breadmaker for £50
