Today at heart foundation (despite the price hikes
)
A pinky peach naf naf winter coat for £7.99.
Been looking all over for an unusual winter coat, at a good pric, but struggling. Really pleased with this, although I don't normally go for pink! Was a little snug, but as its double breasted, I've just moved the buttons in an inch or so :cool:0 -
Trulymadlydeeply_indebt!, I hate to tell you this, but I run a "vintage" market stall, and "hideous" stonewashed-denim-with-rhinestones is starting to sell really, really well amongst the Arts Institute students, so you're ahead of the curve there!
My bargains this week were 9 striped gents cotton shirts off the £1 or 99p rails down in the centre of the nearby conurbation; I'm a-quilting again & there's a LOT of fabric (at least two Fat Quarters) in each shirt. But our local shops haven't had any men's shirts under £4.99 for weeks - not even the polycotton ones that are £6.99 for two, new, plus a tie, in Tesco!Angie - GC Aug25: £374.16/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
At a car boot - Action Man diver and power boat (£3), Bug encyclopaedia (new) (£2), three dvds (£1 each), a book that I've been wanting to read for ages (50p) and a PS2 game (£1). Very chuffed.0

I bought a pair of (vintage) BHS Chinos this week for 50p (current price in BHS = £20). They appear unworn.
As my preference is for vintage clothing (far superior quality IMHO) charity shops are my preferred source for clothing.
In my experience the best bargains and finds are from shops for the smaller charities.0 -
Well done on your bargains everyone and your kindness Building with Lego.
Well I have cut back a lot but have still had a few bargains.
The other week I bought a lovely cosy cardigan coat £5 and also a Per Una Black cord coat £6 which was perfect for a funeral that I sadly had to attend last Saturday. A friend died of a brain tumour at all of forty eight but she had a wonderful send off.
This week I bought two men's checked shirts for £2.99 each - for some reason I have a penchant for wearing men's checked shirts for scruffing about in - particularly flannette ones.
Pollycat I'm only fifty now but I'm with you - I'll definitely be ageing disgracefully too! Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

I bought a RedHerring jacket for £3.50, pair of bench jeans for £3, 4 tops from jasper conran, oasis, next and superdry for £3 each and a pair of M&S boots for £2 (cos the heel was scuffed, easily remedied with a black marker pen). Daughter bought similar, mainly tops and a couple of dresses for similar price :j:beer:
I also got 8 books by jodi picoult for £2.
I very nearly bought a double pine kitchen dresser for £150 (must have cost 4 or 5 times that much when new) as it was beautiful and immaculate, but i dont have room for it!!!
I love our St Lukes hospice shop in crookes, sheffield!wading through the treacle of life!
debt 2016 = £21,000. debt 2021 = £0!!!!0 -
I bought 2 cotton maxi dresses (people are obviously having a 'winter is coming' clearout - yippee!), one of which is a Debenhams crinkle-style one and hasn't been worn. I think it's a size larger than the label says so I bet somebody bought it without trying it on and couldn't be bothered to return it.
That one from RSPCA cost £3.99, the other from our local hospice shop cost £3.00.
Both will be great for my upcoming winter holidays.rubytuesday wrote: »Pollycat I'm only fifty now but I'm with you - I'll definitely be ageing disgracefully too!
Glad to hear it, RubyTuesday.
The other day I wore a short (but not too short - I'm not that disgraceful :rotfl:) dress with leggings and my lemon patent docs.
A crowd of young kids (maybe around 15 or so) came up and admired my boots and asked where I'd got them from.
Made me feel good.
I've dug out my tartan ones as DM's seem to be back in fashion.0 -
Today I am ageing gracefully!! 58 and mostly to be found in jeans and trainers - today I am wearing a tweed Eastex £3 sue ryder a fine knit vee neck jumper, Sainsburys heavily reduced and heels, if only I had a pearl necklace!! I just dare my husband to ask me to help clean out the garage not a chance, I am going to recline with the papers and a coffee. :rotfl:Slightly bitter0
