Next Jumper in a cotton/acrylic mix, red and cream with cables, £2, got it home and discovered tag still in it (though price cut off).
Two tops for me in lovely blue shades, very soft, easy wash and dry (sort of silky), one M and Co and one Next, £1 each. Letter puzzle for DS and top for DS, 50 and 20p respectively. Also got him spare school trousers, 50p, from Mothercare too and hardly worn!

Yesterday I picked up a sheer shirt top (I keep buying these) for £1.50
  • I've loved reading all your charity shop bargains. After months of lurking, I thought I'd (finally!) share my recent buys:

2 x Fat Face summer tops - £2.50 each - bought these about a month ago and have worn & worn them

    1 x Lazy Jacks Polo shirt - £2.50

5 x girls t-shirts, all George ones apart from 1 Ted Baker one, found in the bargain bin for the pricely sum of 25p each!

Last week I got DD a gorgeous Next broderie white cotton tunic dress for $1.75, it's really lovely and looked so pretty on. I also spotted a pair of Next jeans for baby DS but they were a size too small (6-9 and he needs 9-12), for $1.50. This was after I'd just spent $7 on a pair from Asda that were virtually the same. I took it as a sign never to buy new trews for him again ;)

Oooh getting addicted to charity shops now lol.

Picked up DD a lovely little H&M dress from the children's charity shop. It's long sleeved, very colourful reds and pinks with a cream trim, smock like and would look lovely with a pair of cream tights in the winter. It was still $3.50 but worth it!
I also got myself a pretty hand knitted hat for the winter for $2 and baby DS a V-tech pop up surprise ball for $2.50.

I do find there are loads of pretty girls clothes in the charity shops but very very little for boys! I've been on the lookout for dungarees for baby DS but there is nothing around!

I've just got back from a holiday in the west of Ireland, where I went into just the one charity shop as we were mostly in the middle of nowhere, and anyway OH hasn't got the patience for browsing.

Struck gold though, with a brand new (you can tell by the soles) pair of Hotter loafers, my exact size and so comfortable, for... 3 euros (about £2.50)! :j

Felt a bit guilty actually, as maybe the Irish don't know how much they would go for over here. Even in a c/shop they would be about £10, new they are around £65.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

My mum lives in west of Ireland and was in local cs one day dropping off and looking through books. Suddenly the door opened and the traffic warden announced "you have 2 mins!" "But I am just putting on something I may buy" came the response from the changing room "in that case, you have 30 seconds!"

With regard the costs, think they are hit by the economic crisis and probably think that underpricing will ensure they get money rather than overpriced sitting in th eshop.

BTW, what part were you in?

  • I found a winter coat for DD for £5 - silver to the knee, puffy style with hood and fur effect trim - looks lovely and above all WARM.

County Clare - Spanish Point which is near to a very small "town" called Miltown Malbay. My dad was born there and I still have cousins in the area. It's so beautiful, I would be very tempted to move there permanently except I know I'd miss the trappings of "civilization" lol.

The people are all so friendly, such a contrast to most of our country, sad to say.
