    Hi Lucy-Lemon,
Yep I'm in Bangor - plenty of CS to keep me busy & my little man well dressed for pennies!
Would you mind sharing your tips for Llandudno? Be nice to have a look elsewhere
    Thanks Vicky aka Davethecat x

Yeah, there are loads in Bangor! Although I was there today and noticed the Ty Gobaith one has closed. I always used to get good stuff in there!

Anyway, Llandudno tips - Tenovus at the bottom of Mostyn Street is good for womens clothes and pretty reasonable, as is the Ty Gobaith one on Lloyd Street (opposite the town hall). I get some right bargains in there! I once saw this gorgeous Laura Ashley cream wool jacket for £5 but it wasn't my size :o I also really like the St David's Hospice one next door to Ty Gobaith, but I tend to find that I get more books/homeware type stuff there than anything else. Books are usually all 50p or 75p so great for me! The Oxfam is pretty hit and miss, but fairly cheap, compared to the one in Bangor! I got a White Stuff top there the other day for £1.99! Ones to avoid - British Heart Foundation is ridiculously overpriced on everything, as is the Barnados.

We have about 5 or 6 others too, so you could pretty much spend the whole day going round them!

I do. I tend to pick up a couple of things every now and then to list. Do you? What are your thoughts on it? I used to feel a bit bad, but don't anymore! I tend to think that they priced it at what they wanted for it, so that's that. I think if I saw something I knew would go for a lot, lot more than they were charging, I would probably say something though. Or grab it, sell it and give a certain amount back to the charity. Depends how broke I was though I suppose!

No I prefer to leave things for others to enjoy.

Did try it once and it totally back fired on me so I took it as a sign.

  • Yeah, I think you do have to be careful. Unless I know something will sell - Wentworth wooden jigsaws are good! - I tend to leave it, or only buy it if I will use/wear it, or I know someone who will if it doesn't sell. I have been quite lucky really though.

    Hi All

I am on hols with the family, and intended to avoid the CS, but as I have a whole set new ones to explore it would have been rude not to.

I have bought myself a stunning brand new Next dress for £8.99. I know this sound a lot but tag on it is for £45, and it is that gorgeous I would have paid full price tbh if I had ever seen it in Next.

I am so chuffed, and this may end up being the best holiday souvenir I have ever got :D
    Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once. :D

I have donated for a very long time, but never shopped. This week however, I took the plunge. the pet one was really expensive! In the heart one though, I got a gorgeous pair of lined silk curtains. Perfect for DS room, for only 5.99.

    I am very pleased.
    Loving the sunny days!

What a fab thread :D. My latest find was a double satin and cotton beadspread from Next with matching pillowcases and curtains for £10.40. The best thing was that the curtains were exactly the right size, so no sewing.
  • Thanks Lucy Lemon for the info, I have a few more weeks off so will be sure to check them out.

Today, I went to Caernarfon. I picked up an Ikea rug for 50p from Freshfields (a local animal sanctuary) Cancer research had some lovely boys trousers for 50p & also a welsh alphabet poster for 50p. Red Cross had an immaculate baby jacket & soft book for £3. Also treated him to a welsh language pee-PO book for 30p. Lovely trip out amongst the tourists & castle. Pleased with my little splurge :)
