What is your charity shop bargain of the week?

Just back from Nettlebed with a few bargains, this time mostly things for my daughter's class at school. Again, I spent less than £20 in total.
I didn't get to Nettlebed today as I had planned, but instead ended up in my local town centre and then spent the afternoon in Greenwich. Greenwich and Deptford (just a short walk down from, but chalk to Greenwich's affluent cheese) are awash with chazzers. I picked up a new looking Nike sports top, a long and fully lined Jeff Banks smart summer dress, a BNWT Peppa Pig fleece for DN and six books for £9.50.
After years of experience, I can work out which chazzers truly offer bargains - unfortunately some were just silly prices, including The Salvation Army on Deptford High Street. It was like a junk shop, you couldn't even walk in there without tripping over black bin bags. I didn't mind that, but I did mind that the prices seemed to vary depending on whether the volunteers thought you had money or not. I must have looked well off
This was in direct contrast to the Salvation Army I stumbled across on a trip to Canvey Island earlier this week. Books were just 50p and 3 for 2, so I bought 3. Including the complete works of William Shakespeare
Last weekend was happily spent, housing my books in their new bookcases. This week I have bought another 18 to add to my collectionValue-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
"No man is worth, crawling on the earth"- adapted from Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio
Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

Another bulk deposit of Next boys clothes in 12-18mth in the local hospice 3 for £1 bin. Lovely shirt, two pairs of trousers, a waistcoat, a t-shirt and cardigan.
Also found two all in one jumpsuits for me to try. I wanted to find one to see if they suit my post baby figure yet not pay much. One black one from Primark and one black and white one from George at Asda for a £1 each.
Waiting for them to dry after a wash.Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Jan 2012: £16,000+ [STRIKE] Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Sep 2013: £13,023 [/STRIKE]

Searched all the cs in Bexhill at the weekend for a couple of books. But no luck, then went into an independent second hand bookshop and got the latest James Patterson paperback for £3.90. Not the best deal I've had for a second hand book but I also think it is good to support local independent book shops. ( but I did refuse to £3.90 for one that had been out for years).
Have also been looking for a lemon-juicer. Once again couldn't find one so asked my mum if she had a spare one. Turned out that she had four! Yay, I am now the proud new owner of a glass lemon juicer and saved myself a few pennies.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

Really wonderful bargains today.
Three of the Diana Gabaldon Outlander books plus another book for £1 in the Cancer Research shop plus a beautiful rose pink suede jacket in the Sally Anne for £2 and two brand new Debenham's bras which had been donated in bulk - £21 down to £3. Absolutely delighted
I've been looking for a hardback copy of Voyager for years. No luck, but it still gives me a reason to hunt:rotfl:0 -
Thanks.
Yes, it does look good (imho).
My Mum said to me at least 25 years ago 'Polly, don't you think you're getting a bit too old to wear those chunky boots (DMs) and patterned leggings?'
I think now I've passed 60, she's just accepted that her eldest daughter is never going to change and doesn't dress like the daughters of her friends.
That was when DMs weren't in fashion, no idea why I picked up on them.
I have serious boot envy ... I love DM's, I even splashed out on a new pair of purple shimmer DM boots to wear under my wedding dress. My family always said I would get Wed in a pair of DM boots, my mum was just glad it was a new pair and not a scruffy 20 year old pair.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. Do you still have them and do you still wear them?0 -
Baby banardos had exactly what I was looking for this weekend, Lamaze socks with rattles in them for my newly acquired poop machine (DS), I was going to part with £20 for a brand new set with wrist rattles as well, but managed to find the socks loose for £1.49. Some would say that's a lot for a pair of socks but he loves them and they sort of act as a cow bell indicating he's awake!!0

Trawled all our local CS for DH - looking to add to his collection of Lee Child books. The only two I found he already had
but..... for me - a lovely deep turquoise sleeveless cowl necked top in a heavy jersey for £1.50. Looked new - only and F & F but really nice quality and filled a gap in my wardrobe!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

This afternoon's wander round the community chazza produced a pair of 'George' tan brogues with tassels on the front. As new, only synthetic but will be fine for wet winter weather wear, £2.50. And yet another long sleeved T shirt, M & S 'Twiggy' in a medium denim blue, will be great with jeans under a shirt-stylee top, £10 -
Son popped into local hospice shop on the way back from the bank and found lots of Portmeirion Botanic Garden - 6 dinner plates, 6 tea plates, 6 cereal bowls,6 cups and saucers, 6 mugs, 2 serving bowls, an oval serving plate, a jug and a pin dish - all for £19.99. It's all in perfect condition and doesn't look used. I just have to find somewhere to store it all!
I'm so pleased I had to create an account so I could add to this thread.0
