Ha....I saw those items last week, (think they have been there for a few weeks actually)!! Did you see the TB black evening dress in the window priced at something like £80? And a black evening jacket at £60 on the rails? It's strange but the Oxfam shop in Headingley has had the same range of items but at much cheaper prices. Ted Baker must have donated a large quantity of stuff that has been shared out among lots of shops and the local managers must decide on the prices? Can't think of any other explanation. Actually I purchased the black leggings-type trousers (please don't judge me - I thought they might look good with boots next winter!) for £7.99 in Headingley whereas they were £24.99, (I think), in Otley. The black evening dress was £25 here but has been sold now.

Actually, I might have a trip over to Otley this afternoon as it's a lovely sunny day....tis a nice bus ride and I love a rummage in the 99p shop :D
    I agree.
I posted a while ago about Help the Aged who had some new Ted Baker stuff.
One of the staff told me that TB says they can only have a small number of items on the rails at any one time.

My buys are not as good as any of yours, but I was happy with a smart black & cream swimsuit for £2.49 at Sally Army, and a lovely pale blue/biscuit/cream striped scarf (£3.49 at Bernardo's) which will look nice with a cream jacket I have.

I never manage to find this level of bargains! Last thing I'm proud of was a pair of White Company jeans in my size for £6, I'm heading out today on a mission to see what the universe offers me :)

I can confirm this as I overheard some Oxfam staff. It is so that the brand is not damaged. That is why they don't sell it off in TKMaxx.

I found one small treasure in the Otley 99p shop this afty. A pure silk, M & S strappy, hip length, smocky top in a pinky purple and brown pattern. Another mis-sized item...label said size 8 but easily fits a 12. Could well be unworn as it still had the plastic tags in the label at the back....would have been too scratchy to wear like that. :)

Dd and I had a wander around the charity shops in a local market town and in the ymca shop she got two vintage 1960s dresses. Both in immaculate condition and they fit like they were made for her. The first is a gold brocade sleeveless dress that she could actually wear to a club or night out it is gorgeous and the other one is a pinafore type dress with a built in blouse type thing both similar to these pictures for £4.99 each. She is a quirky dresser and carries them off beautifully. She's lived and worked in London and says they would be a crazy price in the vintage shops there

I've seen it up here in HtA - their manageress told me it was charitable donations from TB, and they can only have 5 items on their shop floor at any one time, its one of the conditions. My local Sense shop have had new last-season Carvela handbags, on the same basis. I guess it is a tax write-off exercise, which allows us chazzer freaks to acquire new designer items at a lower cost (if we wish!).

When I was a little girl my nan used to have a dress like the gold brocade one that no longer fitted. It was given to me as a princess dress for my dressing up box. Happy days.
