Today I bought a Roman Originals dress, black lace outer with lining and an extra bodycon type lining. 3/4 length lace sleeves.
Has a scoop neck and V back.
Fits like a glove and will be my LBD for Christmas.
The assistant said 'WOW!' when I asked her opinion (but she may have just been after a sale). :rotfl:
£5.00 Hospice shop, would have probably been about £40 to £50.

100% cashmere cardigan, gorgeous dark plum colour.
Tiny hole at the back neckline where the stitching has come undone but took all of 5 minutes to fix.
    £1 from Sue Ryder shop

King size flannellette sheet and a pair of matching pillow cases...£3 and a kingsize white 100% cotton sheet. There was no price on it so asked the price..£1. Ideal for making a couple of summer nighties!
    So pleased with my purchases!
  • Today, I called at the local hospice shop to drop off a bag of donations, and had a browse whilst I was there. They were having an 'all clothes 50p' day.

I picked up a few bits:
    • Lovely Mand S Indigo Pale blue Blouse in perfect condition in my size - 50p
    • Eastex Vintage Dress (Navy, with fine white polka dot, tea style with a neck tie). Size 10 so def not for me, but just loved the style so picked it up anyway. I am meant to be decluttering lol - 50p
    • Volcano Board Game - like new contents still sealed - £2- perfect for our board game nights
    • Rapunzel Disney Store Plush Doll - £1
    • Beanie Boo - £0.20
The toys and clothes are now washed and drying. I just need to decide what to do with the dress...........

Being strict with myself today, I only bought a Victorian crime novel for £1 and a pair of M&S brown corduroy trousers for 50p!

Saw lots of bargains though including a £1 green military Forever 21 jacket, a pair of new goth-style Camper high-topped shoes for £10 and lots of M&S almost-new jeans for between 50p & £1.

  • Our local Sue Ryder has now become a £2 shop for ladies and gents clothes, following other CSs locally. I bought a lovely Jacques Vert jacket for a sewing alteration project. Much more reasonably priced now and I hope they make more by doing this and then everyone benefits.

Yesterday I picked up a useful George @Asda navy padded gilet with a 'fur' trimmed hood, in excellent condition for £3 :)

Today I had a trip to a nearby small town that thinks it is rather 'posh' and spotted something in a chazza window that has got me very curious as to if it is being sold legally? I was wondering if anyone here has any legal retail expertise and also what people think generally about the charity selling this item. The item being displayed rather ostentatiously was a 'Chanel' bag with a card in front of it describing it as 'a very good copy', and it was priced at £80, (if you know your Chanels it was a medium, double flap, 2.5 in caviar leather, black quilted with the double intertwined CC's - approx retail price £4 to £4,500 vintage, as new). Is the charity in the right to be selling an admittedly fake high end bag like this? One of the reasons I am so curious is that I inherited a similar bag some years ago, (a genuine vintage one I mean!) and I would love to take my bag in and compare the two....but I wouldn't dare do it! If what they are doing is against the law I won't be reporting them....I am just interested in the rights and wrongs and how other people feel about this matter?

    Thanks

I think the chazzer can sell what it wants to, but to knowingly advertise something that breaches trading standards regulations is asking for trouble.

If it's a copy, they are asking too much. I bought a very good fake Prada nylon bag - the strong black version- for about £10 in Bangkok.

As far as it being legal, if it's a one-off then Trading Standards won't be bothered. They only want to stop people making a business out of selling lots of fakes.

My bargain this week has been the first two Game of Thrones books at £1 each, and a nice little scarf that goes with lots of my tops. Only 50p.
