Chuffed to bits with my charity's shop find today! Also it's actually really spooky and like a sign or something!
Recently my Mam has started to work her way through my Dad's many many slides, and that's a huge task as there's literally thousands as he was a photographer. When I went round today, she told me she'd found some from the 1966 World Cup Final. I asked her if my Dad had kept his slide viewer (he got rid of a lot of equipment when he went onto digital) and she said she couldn't find it anywhere and that we'd have to try and find a new one as it would be easier to view them all.
So whilst we were in town, we asked at the two photo developer places. One said they might be able to order one and it would be about £25 and the other one just told us to look on the internet. So anyhow, of course I had to have a look around the chazzers, and lo and behold what did we spot, but a genuine 1970's slide viewer for £5!! Behind that, was a painting of a motorbike just like the one my Dad had also! It was only £1 and I wish I'd picked it up now.
I was telling the woman behind the counter how we'd just been looking for one and she was like "I don't know about you, but that's a sign, it was meant to be!" and that she'd only put it out yesterday. It was also in my favourite charity shop, the hospice that helped my Dad when he was poorly.
So yeah, very pleased with today's purchase!0 -

You're not making me feel happy.
Bought a pair of D-shaped hand-weights yesterday from our hospice shop in pretty girly pink.
They're neoprene covered and I've been looking for some for a while to replace my big, unweildy plastic covered ones that are getting a bit uncomfortable (I think I'm developing a touch of arthritis in the base of my thumbs).
They are 3lb (1.36kg) each opposed to my old ones 1.5kg, £2.50 would probably be £12+ to buy.0 -
Bought 2 books for £1 yesterday - Hard B*stards, and Hard B*stards 2 by Kate Kray. Reading about gangstas is not my usual thang but it's just as well to be aware how the other half chooses to live....Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I went to Derby today and had a mooch round the charity shops there. I never ever get fab bargains in charity shops- ever
had a good look round today but nothing grabbed my attention. I did however get a lovely jersey dress (I'm going to wear it with leggings, I had black ones on when I tried it on and it went fab) Simply Be (so likely probably wouldn't have been cheap new) for £2 from Cancer Research.

hello all - first time poster but long time reader.
Just wanted to share my experience with you all about my local charity shop near Belvedere train station in Kent....
What a gem of a place!
Ive always seen it there closed when i finish work.
I got off the train last night around 6pm to find this shop open-Late night Thursday shopping=Genius!
Such stunning window displays with twinkling lights and that was before i got in there!
The shop is like a tardis and thats where the fun started=OMG there are some wonderful items in there.
It seems like the shop sells everything from clothes to furniture and everything in between.
I ended up with a pair of Kurt Geiger shoes new for £9.00, A brand new Phase Eight dress for summer for £10. A gorgeous art deco style figurine for £4-00 boxed and a Butler and Wilson necklace for £20.
Lovely Staff and great music!
What a fabulous shop with something for everyone .Well worth the visit and if the Christian Dior dress is still there at the weekend I might be tempted as it is open Sundays too!!! ha ha!0 -
:wave:Welcome tram1
Oooooooh it's been ages since I found anything!!!
But today I found a cream Austin Reed T shirt, lovely quality for 50p at the hospice sale
3 of the chazzas in our small town have closed down lately....2 of them in the Arndale Centre. Oh well, we still have 5 left and the hospice sale and the community shop....0 -
