I'm hoping some unwanted stuff finds its way to me.0 -

Isn't it funny how when you have got the charity shop bug you won't buy something in a normal shop on principle?
Also when you look back and remember things you nearly bought but couldn't justify at the time, but would now be just what you could do with!
I went to Wigan yesterday, loads of c/shops and some of them had good bargains. I only got a few bits and bobs because I didn't want to carry much as I had a convoluted train journey back, but it's well worth a visit for any of us addicts!I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

I got given a book token for my birthday, which was lovely and thoughtful as I'm a big reader, but it meant I had to go into a proper actual bookshop for the first time in ages. I've had so many brilliant bargains in chazzers that it's a shock to see just how much new books are. I bought a graphic novel in the end, as they rarely seem to end up in chazzers for some reason.
I find shopping in "normal" clothes shops really boring these days, and really only use them for undies and footwear. They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -
My best bargain was a couple of months ago - a Fendi bag, which I am told is worth quite a few hundred. I paid £2. To be honest, I did not know what it was worth, thought it was maybe like Next or Gap, feeling a bit guilty really.0

Is it a genuine one though? There's a lot of fakes regarding designer bags.
If it is genuine, then that's an awesome bargain! Don't feel guilty, if you didn't buy it then someone else would have snapped it up!0 -

Personally, I would not have a clue, but I'm assured by a friend that it's real - she is into her designer stuff. Thanks re the guilt thing0 -
Hello
Can't remember if I mentioned last week but I got a brand new with tags Fiorelli tan handbag, its quite large for £11. Might keep it towards my Mums Xmas pressie yet tho! Also got some full size Sanctuary smellies for £1 each.
Picked up a really cute Cath Kidston floral dress for my DD for £4.99 and a Julia Donaldson hardback book for 50p.

I've seen one, the big wide one, just £1.50 but it is in Birmingham!Save_Dosh wrote:My best bargain was a couple of months ago - a Fendi bag, which I am told is worth quite a few hundred. I paid £2. Don't feel guilty! I've had designer bargains off the pound rails, so they've been knocking around in the shops for ages before being reduced, and some shops just want rid of their donations as soon as, and the money in the till.
Yesterday's bargain was a lovely table and 4 chairs from the local YMCA furniture shop, £45. Brand is Ercol and the chairs are the Windsor shaker ones, the table is the Chester pedestal one.0 -
There haven't been any bargains locally for weeks now, but I'm going to a family wedding in Cambridge his weekend so will have a good browse there. Our local shops really do seem full of overpriced, very worn stuff recently. Wondering if it's because more people are HAVING to use them?
Lots more folk in the chazzas round here at the mo as well. It could be that the weather is a bit better and they are car booters waiting for the car boot season to kick in?
I use this website to locate chazzas in a new area, it's the reason OH thinks I have chazza radar :rotfl:

click on the find a shop button, it isn't 100% accurate but it'll give you a good idea of the best streets for the shops.0 -
The long chain strap on my best posh handbag snapped recently....I got in touch with the manufacturer and they quoted me £75 +VAT to repair it  Whilst browsing in the community chazza I spotted an evening bag with a long, heavy, gold metal, detachable strap. The bag itself was really tatty and priced at 99p so I snapped(:p) it up thinking it was worth trying it out for the time being till I decide what to do. Was very pleasantly surprised...it looks OK!! Not quite as good as the original as that has a strip of fine leather threaded through the chain but only a handbag expert would know. As I was about to throw away the evening bag bit I unzipped the inside pocked only to find a silver version of the chain in there....bonus!0
