Can I ask what type of things are you doing with it?
Might look out for one in local CS!

So far we've only done onions with it. For to use in toasties and stirfries. I'm left handed and quite awkward with a knife and have found it much easier to cut the onion up using the spiralizer.

My husband just bought a courgette (to do some courgetti!) to use tomorrow with the chicken provincial instead of having rice or pasta.

That'll probably do twice, and can be used alongside some spiralized carrot to go with the salmon. Again, substituting the rice.

Hopefully we'll like it and it'll be a great way to cut down on the carbs! :)

I must apologise for my earlier comments about having seen spiralizers given away in Asda - now that I know what you are talking about, I realise that those were completely different, little plastic gadgets, probably worth about 10p!

Still not sure if these fancy things would be worth their cupboard space though, once the novelty wears off!
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

You're probably right, it'll probably be another cupboard gadget!

I didn't see your previous comments. What were Asda giving away?

They were more like a cross between a potato peeler and a paring knife, from what I remember. You could make swirly strips of carrot, cucumber etc.

I didn't bother to queue up for one, as you had to listen to a woman giving a demo before they were given out, and there were loads of people crowded around. The one or two I have spotted in c/shops looked pretty flimsy.

  • Debenhams do that now and again too. I got a paring knife years ago, and like you say, had to stand and listen to a demo first! There was one the other month but I couldn't be bothered listening to the whole spiel just to get a tiny knife and then have them try to sell you more (which of course is the whole reason behind it!)

Just two small bargains from the £1 rail today. A rydale jacket which dd can go riding in and a pair of denim shorts she can wear with tights. Together with the cs jeans earlier in the week she is now sorted for bottoms for a while.

I really want a spiraliser! I've been holding off buying one for hopes of finding one in a CS after Christmas, fingers crossed!

    Great ideas!
I've put on about 1/2 stone after reaching my goal weight at SW, this would be great, but I think I'll hold out for a CS find!

Well I seem to have gone a bit nuts at chazzers recently - mostly unplanned visits! I bought a lovely smart scarf for 99p in Hucknall on Saturday, will get a lot of wear from it. Then 4 books and some wooden picture blocks for the baby in West Bridgeford.

Back down south I added another 5 books to my collection, a BN large teddy bear, nice cardigan and some wooden coloured blocks for baby plus a furry hat for my mum for the grand sum of £8.

Also an unexpected "chazzer" find....I spotted a lady was wearing a really gorgeous scarf that I was admiring. I asked her where it came from and she told me it wasn't expensive as it came from the chaz, she found it uncomfortable to wear and intended to remove the beading. She offered it to me, I asked how much she would take for it and she insisted on gifting it! What a lovely generous person she is :A:A:A

My sister managed to take the edge off my excitement when I told her: she said that I'm always so generous with people it's time I got some kindness back. I don't see being a nice person as making me deserving of anything, I just like lifting people's spirits and seeing them happy.
    Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

"No man is worth, crawling on the earth"- adapted from Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio

Hope is not a strategy :D...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!
