But yesterday made my month as I found 6 brand new, sealed products from one of my mum's fav brands (that she usually can't justify buying). Retail value is £157 total and I got them for £9.50!
It's all Lulu's Time Bomb brand, I got:
100ml neck cream RRP £50, paid £2
45ml day cream x 2 RRP £56, paid £4
45ml neck cream, RRP £36, paid £2
125ml face wash, RRP £15, paid £1.50
:j so happy as I never get bargains! Makes me want to hunt down some more charity shops! I'll be keeping an eye on this thread too as I enjoy reading about other people's finds!
Is that her Christmas present sorted?0 -
Probably not sorted as I can't resist buying more presents! But this way I'm going to look super generous on Xmas day
although I'm sure I won't be able to resist telling her what a bargain they were!

Just one find in the community charity shop today....
Black jersey, pull-on pencil skirt from M & S with one of those 'shapewear/control slip' contraptions for a lining. Always wanted to try one of these as I couldn't imagine that they a) work and b) are comfy. Well, they do and they are! They really do seem to smooth out a lot of the old lumps and bumps much to my surprise. And it was even on the reduced rail....as new and £1.25 :j0 -
Hi all
I haven't been on this thread for quite sometime, mainly because during the warmer months I go carbooting and spend less time in charity shops. But now that the carboots are over i'll be charity shopping again for a while.
Few bargains this week and last:
* Brand new Red Herring cream ear muffs £3 rrp £14
* Brand new large Yankee Candle called Fresh Cut Roses £4 (I love Yankee candles, never seen one in a charity shop before. And I cannot justify the original large candle price)
*Big hat box full of Burts Bees full size products £6
*Fat Face Ditsy Floral Dress £5.50. (Saw the same one sell for £25 used on ebay recently, looks fab on especially as i'm 8 months pregnant)

Suze)
I've used the beeswax lip balm (tin) & it's really good.
I like Fat Face clothes too.
My latest bargains are:
Mantaray sleeveless top - long enough for me as a tunic - in jade, fuchsia & grey.
Atmosphere patterned leggings - these are grey background and have the same jade & fuchsia flowers as the top above but slightly washed out (IYSWIM). .
I know they were probably only £6 or £8 to start with (they are thicker than the usual Primarni jersey leggings) but look new and they go with the Mantaray top in a 'off-the-wall' type of way - or at least I think they do.
£2.49 for top £1.50 for leggings Both from Barnados.
Unknown make short dress, fabulous quality jersey in navy with Teal/turquoise ducks and leaves on - looks a bit Christmas-y.
Will look fab with thick tights (I have some teal ones) and ankle boots.
I wish people wouldn't cut maker's labels out.
£2.49 British Heart Foundation
TU mid-green with red/cream/blue flowers long sleeved tunic - sleeves can be rolled up and buttoned back, grandad neckline, just below the bum so perfect with leggings.
Not a brand I'd normally buy either from Sainsburys or a charity shop but I saw the pattern and felt the material before I saw the label.
And it still has the circular inspection sticker on the washing label.
£1.99 Oxfam
So - I have to throw out 3 tops to accommodate that lot - that's usually my cue to try everything in my wardrobe on.0 -

Fab finds! I would have been so chuffed with the candle and Burts Bees. I love Fat Face too. A woman approached me in a charity shop a couple of weeks ago holding a Fat Face dress and asked me if I knew of the brand, and if it was 'cool' enough to buy for her daughter. I was so tempted to say 'no' so I could nab it for myself, but I resisted! You bowl like your mother. Unless of course she bowls well, in which case you bowl nothing like herBig Bang Theory

I'm looking at a Citizen Eco-Drive dainty ladies watch 0 bids so far, starting at £44.99
I know, MSE-ers - but they retail around £200 and it was only bought in Sept 2015 - and it will never need a new battery.. I don't begrudge the cost, but I don't intend to ever buy another - its a watch for life. No scrap that, if it doesn't survive 3 generations posthumously I shall roll in my grave :rotfl:
Based on this question, I got to wondering what you all check when you're deciding whether to buy someting out of a charity shop.. If its the right size I then give it a thorough once over - does it look smart enough for work (whether its workwear or not!)? My wardrobe is v good quality and items last me for years, so its got to fit in! I have a v keen sense of smell so the sniff test is not usually necessary. It goes without saying any garment from the chaz gets washed / dry cleaned first.
Its funny - you can turn up at a shop looking like you've just visited the tip, but a good watch, quality shoes, good diction and nice manners are what fashions the SA's attitude to you.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!
