I've had a really good look over the jacket and it's really clean, even in the creases of the elasticated bottom of the sleeves (IYKWIM) so I've decided not to wash the jacket just for the small mark on the collar - which to be honest is not bad and you'd only notice it if you are as picky as me - as it's so fantastically waterproof.charlies-aunt wrote: »Thick sage green cotton bathmat £1 at Age Concern Chazzer today - not a very sexy purchase but a great bargain nonetheless!a double size M & S duvet cover in navy( only one pillow case but that`s not a problem?and a navy blue matching sheet.( about £3.50 for the cover and £2 for the sheet)
Had a chazzer fail recently - bought a beautiful blouse in my size and thought nothing more of it. I'm glad I did get round to trying it on, as the upper arms are too tight to be comfortable (I have good muscles here but I think it's a design fault, am guessing this is why the blouse found its way to the chaz in the first place). I shall get my £2.25 back, or more likely exchange for some more books.
Scope has trolley tokens atm, I've looked everywhere for them since inheriting some new keys a while back but this is the only chaz that seems to have them. (Nothering at Cancer Research, Barnados, Oxfam, BHF, PDSA or local charity shops. I am nothing if not thorough).

Well, not exactly 'sniff test' but i always have a good look at the armholes before buying.
£30 Jaeger very fine suede coat
£399 for a wool/cashmere coat so heaven knows how much a suede one would be. :T0 -
My bathmat was pre-loved but in good condition - I have no problem with using used items as long as they are clean.
Staying in hotels, not many have issues with sleeping on bedding and using towels that have been pre-used dozens of times
When someone passes away in hospital, the bed sheets and hospital gown that they died in are just laundered and re-used and no-one thinks twice about using them so I won't lose any sleep over my bath mat:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

DD has been cast as The Baker in her Drama group's production of Into The Woods. I wanted some brown striped trousers (aka James Corden's role), a 'renaissance' type shirt and an apron (I'm hopeless at sewing!). I got all 3 items over 3 different shops for a fiver. Apron looks like they have someone who sews and donates to the shop, this was the only plain one they had and was the most expensive at £3. A size 8 brown pin-striped trousers (can't remember brand) cost £1 and the shirt is perfect for the use I want it for. It's a size 6 and from Next. DD didn't think a great deal of the renaissance style top, the conversation went
DD 'That came from Next!
Me 'Yes, it did' (originally;))
DD 'It has to have been on the clearance rail?'
Me 'Quite correct it was' (in the £1 section of the CS )0 -

I have absolutely no concerns about the bedding. The double duvet cover has already been washed and dried and it is lovely. It is missing a pillow case but that can easily be remedied. It cost me less than I would have had to pay for two pillow cases! It is a very good quality cotton jersey one and I couldn't afford to buy one as good.
Personally I would rather buy good second hand than first hand tat! One of my sons is quite happy with T M Lewin shirts that I can get for him from my favourite CS while the other wouldn't accept it! Each to their own!0
