What is your charity shop bargain of the week?

I would be hard pressed to spend £20 on a single item in a chazzer - perhaps for a v good quality dress or coat, not a casual top though.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Ladies - I'm in a bit of a quandry.
I don't know if I've got a charity shop bargain or not.
I spotted a fab hoodie in Age Concern yesterday but almost fainted at the price (I'll reveal that later).
It's Weird Fish and is still on their website as a current style:
It's like a knitted fabric:
It's really heavyweight - perfect for cold, dry, crisp winter days, the colour is fab (more fuchsia than it looks), condition is as new (I've checked the pockets, lining and outer) and it will look great with jeggings and flat ankle boots - but it was £19.99.
New price is £85 so it's less than 25% of the new price.
But - is it a bargain?
I bought anyway and can take it back within 28 days for a full refund.
But what do you think?
A charity shop bargain to me is finding a Per Una top for £1.
I have got the same one as this I got mine in a chazzer for £4 so it was a bargain.I have had it for a couple of years and it washes really well and still looks brand new. £20 is a lot but if you will get the use out of it I think its still a bargain as you will wear it for years

Re prices - I love my £1 bargains from the sale rail in my local hospice shop but for some items I tend to look at the original price and might just splurge.
For example, I bought a new Kipling bag for £20 (I love these) which was on QVC for £70.I have got the same one as this I got mine in a chazzer for £4 so it was a bargain.I have had it for a couple of years and it washes really well and still looks brand new. £20 is a lot but if you will get the use out of it I think its still a bargain as you will wear it for years

I've seen a beautiful painted single wardrobe in the BHF shop, priced at £95.
Measured up the existing bedroom furniture and I shall have to do a fair bit of rearranging, but if it's still in the shop today I shall buy it!
Fingers crossed.
They arrived today and refused to even get it off the back of the van! Guy said "We only deliver to the door and I'm not hefting it upstairs, not with my back". Um ... it's a wardrobe and belongs in the bedroom and you have a bad back but are delivering furniture? Long story short, they wouldn't budge and I had to go down to the shop and complain bitterly (I was SO disappointed) and made sure they refunded the cost and the delivery (they didn't want to refund the delivery but I told them it hadn't been delivered and wasn't even taken off the back of the van. They refunded as "good will".
We'd spent the best part of Friday rearranging furniture and emptying the existing wardrobe - that they were going to have.
Sorry for the long post .... rant over now that the steam's stopped coming out of ears!
Pollycat - you obviously like it so I think you should keep it. "Weird Fish" is a good hardwearing brand and expensive new!Normal people worry me.0 -
How very annoying and disappointing!
I'm outraged on your behalf!

Oh what a shame HC, and I hope the delivery blokes got reprimanded for being difficult. I also hope the next person the wardrobe is bought by lives in a bungalow!
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

What a shame, HC, and how disappointing for you.
I would have been pretty annoyed too.
When you went back for your refund was it the same woman who sold you the wardrobe?
If it was, she has massive cheek to try to keep the delivery fee.
I might just be tempted to email BHF head office.
Is there no way you can get help to get the wardrobe upstairs - you clearly really like it and you've already done all the work to accommodate it.
The jury is still out on the Weird Fish jacket.0
