I'm in Hereford (half the time!), which is only 15 mins by train from Leominster, yet I've never been c/shopping there. Are there many there, and are they far from the railway station?I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

I got some lovely very vintage (if not antique) bed skirts, made of linen and crocheted lace for £4 in Shelter yesterday (its a mystery why they were so cheap, Shelter are usually extortionate), and a little booklet of black and white vintage postcards (with notes the person had me made on the back) of Versailles for £1.M.A.C.A.W member number 39

It's only a small town (as you know) and I'm only there for a short while usually (and with a husband waiting outside tapping his foot - you know the sort). Oxfam, Red Cross, BHF, are there as well as a couple of animal/community ones that I found. There may be other that I've not come across.
Maybe not worth a special journey, but if you're there anyway ..
Not sure about the station, I went by car.Normal people worry me.0 -

Oh yes! Luckily I've found some cheap insert sellers on eBay, so it won't crush my Filofax dreams! :rotfl:0 -

Don't forget the big st michaels hospice warehouse not far from Leominster railway station. Huge warehouse of furniture and clothes. I'm from Hereford too and always make a point of visiting this one when I'm up in Leominster. :j0 -
Hereford used to be excellent for charity shops. Then there was a massive fire in the building to the left of Ann Summers (opposite the Old House) and the whole row is being redeveloped and the 3 charity shops there have shut!
There is still a YMCA opposite McDonalds and 3 along the street with Staples and Polski Sklep in it (sorry, I'm always dreadful on street names).
I've never been to the one near the railway station, will look out for it next time I go.0 -
Frith - what a lovely 'haul' The skirt will look fab with the light violet colour for a top in the summer & try the purple or the teal for winter/autumn. I'd wear it with ballerina flats in the summer & your boots when the weather's not so good. This is what a love about CS finds - you can put an outfit together for very little money & just a bit of effort.
My bargain last week was a beautiful butter soft black leather jacket for wearing on the back of DH's trike (when its not raining!!!) for £9.99. It was so beautifully made & finished I googled the name (Wardrobe) not heard of them before but they seem to be a very upmarket shop in London. Shame I couldn't find any more of the same brand haha.
Why is it the person who has the same taste as you is always a size smaller or larger??????Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0
