  • Yesterday I got a pair of pj trousers for DH reduced to £1 and a lovely summer top by M&S for £2.50; it's sea green with a butterfly print.
  • I was in a local town yesterday (not Worcester!!!) and visited about seven charity shops.
Came home with ........ nothing, nowt, nada, zilch!
£11.50 for a Zara top (OK it was silk, but dry clean only) I don't think so.
Congratulations to Suze for her Worcester bargains, must have been right place right time job.
    Normal people worry me.

Got a lovely pair of black ecco shoes in Sue Ryder for £3.50. Sturdy ones with velcro strap fastenings, and a perfect fit. They looked a bit dirty but the soles were as new, and a bit of black shoe polish brought them up a treat. Been my week for shoes - two good quality pair for the grand total of £4.50 - that's me sorted for a while!

I like to try to decode the dates written on the price labels to work out how long the item has been on the shelves. It was the same date on the most recent shoes, so I assumed they had only been put out that day (otherwise someone else would have snapped them up!). Sometimes the date is a week or a fortnight ahead, or something in-between, so I think that's the date when they either reduce or pass on the item to another shop. I know they recycle some things around other shops, especially if there are two of the same in an area or a few miles apart.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

In the shop where I work, (B) we put acode that is two weeks ahead of when the item of clothing goes on the shop floor. Three weeks for bric a brac Then we do regular decodes and anything over the date gets sent on to another shop.
So, if you see a dress for example dated two weeks from yesterday, then it's only been out one day.

I was looking for a bright coloured fleece for my hols later in the year and found a bright pink stripe one by Regatta at the Cancer shop for £4. They also had a lovely scarf from the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford with it's label still attached. Grey background with large navy spots - another find for my hols at only £3. Very happy.

I expect some people download albums onto their iPod or phone, then they don't need to keep the 'hard copy'.

I've done that with lots of c/shop-bought CDs, but not brave enough to part with them in case something goes horribly wrong!
