  • Went to RSPCA charity shop Thursday and saw a Peter Kay DVD (it's brand new, just got the cellophane taken off it) for £1.50, same one at my work is £2.99 without discount. My nan likes Peter Kay so she's going to watch it too. Not bad for £1.50.

Today I was lucky enough to find a lovely small, wooden side table. Just what I needed and only £3·50.

I popped into a few of our local charity shops last week looking for clothes to make into a witches fancy dress for me to wear at the kids Halloween party. I found a velvety witches hat looking new £1, a knee length black skirt that will look great with my boots after Halloween £2.99 and the best was a black top with gold pattern on it, lace up the front with tags still on saying £19.99 for £1.50  :D

I wandered into a British Heart Foundation shop and found loads of lovely things - bought a gored Viyella skirt, good as new and covered with a beautiful embroidered pattern (£4.99), a Liz Claiborne skirt with a fab geometric print (£4.99) and an M&S men's lambswool jumper (£3.99). I also picked up a couple of DVDs and a couple of funny paperbacks for my kids. Really pleased as I was longing for some new clothes!
ETA I've just seen the same Viyella skirt on eBay for £12.99 so feeling even better...
  • Not CS (because of a self imposed ban until payday!) but for me a mega bargain as we have an allotment. :)

Bought 4 packs of 'branded' specialist seeds for 5p each from Wilko's yesterday - seeds are guaranteed to be good up to 2015 and were originally priced between £1.85-£2.15 :)

This isn't charity shop but was from Tesco on their charity book table - can't remember off-hand what charity it supports:

The Stand by Stephen King, one of my all-time favourite books, in hardback - "for the first time the complete and uncut version", excellent condition and over 1000 pages for me to look forward to.

Books are 50p but I put 60p in as I didn't have the exact money.

Not from cs but our local FB "mums" site. Kerplunk and Bop it in really good condition - £5 and then absolutely tonnes of Ben 10 stuff, figures and vehicles, along with books £45 - I know that sounds an awful lot but the figures in Mr Ts are £5 each on sale!! That's my ds sorted for Christmas.

A lovely 100% wool throw, vintage, in muted checks of blue brown and pink. Originally thought it would make a nice dog blanket but when I got it home found it was just perfect far too good for Daisy!

Pair of clarks shoes for ds £1 - currently in the freezer!
hot wheels crash test buggy looks new still in the box £3 - will wrap up for christmas
pair of glass sundae dishes 50p

I need to know more about this!

I've heard about putting woollies in the freezer to kill moth eggs but not shoes. I have been known to wash casual shoes in Dreft and pack with newspaper and that always cleans/freshens them up nicely.

When I've bought shoes in the past I've dusted them inside with Dustbin Powder (the sort you can use in rabbit hutches too) just in case!!!!
