Morning All - had a good clear out over the weekend & took a load of odds & sods & clothes I no longer wore into my CS. I HAD to have a look round (just in case you know!!) Found a lovely Janet Reger red silk nightie for £4.00 & hummed & haad over a fake Louis Vuiton bag - didn't need it so put it back & a guy bought it for his wife - I think actually it could have been genuine as it looked & felt like leather & the finish on it was very good - it was marked at £12.00 whether it was a fake or not it was still very nice!

16 inches tall beautifully made wooden Welsh dresser. Perfect for the craft room I am making for myself now DD2 has left home. I have several vintage packets of sewing needles with lovely covers plus vintage wooden spools of thread that are too old and brittle for use (these are from an old 1950's sewing box bought stuffed with contents for £5 a few years ago , also from CS) which I thought would look gorgeous displayed on the dresser along with small pots of bright seed beeds and a thimble or 2. Dresser cost £3 ...absolute bargain!

Your sewing room sounds really lovely. Can you post pics? I'm very jealous.:)

I went to a Cancer Research shop yesterday in an area of the city I don't normally visit. They had all woollens down to £2.50, and tops down to £2 plus skirts were reduced. There were some good brands too (wonder if they ship them in as it's not an upmarket area?)I tried 7 items on in the end but confined myself to just 2. A thick, black zip up cardi from French Connection and a hot pink, long sleeved top by Esprit. They never have sales like that in my local one.

And I only went in to buy a card!:rotfl:
  • Got my DD a lovely M&S coat pink and fluffy on the inside, she needed a new coat £2.99 and looks almost new. Had to buy it.

  • Got a lovely Oasis silk blouse for €4.50 but it has a sweat stain to one of the armpits, and some traces of fake tan - both stains are in the polyester lining - would it be ok if i treated them with baking soda and vinegar and wash in a delicate wash in the machine?

Try washing with a gentle detergent before you do the baking soda & vinegar thing.

I am doing up my kitchen on the cheap - of course - and am looking for cream nicknacks. Found a lovely cream 10 " high country-style metal heart to hang on a wall, and if it doesn't 'go' with the decor I can decorate it with holly&berries at Christmas and hang it on the gate.

Best bit though is that I was half-heartedly browsing the jackets and came across a brand new Michael Kors black quilted jacket. For £6.99!!!
(I bought a Country casual full-length coat in the same fabric last year and it cost £130).

    Debt-free and Proud!
Took a few bags of clothes to my local CS this morning and came home with 2 beautiful knitted jumpers (one a make I don't know, and one a rocha john rocha) for my daughter to replace the ones we took in! They were just £3 each. One happy, warm DD.
PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!
