What is your charity shop bargain of the week?

Some great bargains.
Well I hit very lucky yesterday. I called to speak to an elderly lady who works tirelessly in a charity shop that raises money for African orphans. She showed me a sewing machine that someone she knew well had donated. I had hoped that I would might receive one as a Christmas present so I couldn't pass it. Like new, Brother £50 ... so pleased to get this. Roll on January and I will have no garden to busy me and I will sew, sew and sew some more.:):)

One of our local charity shops was charging rather high prices for its stuff and I passed on a Quicksilver windproof jumper at £5.99. It's one of those black over-the-head but with small zip at the neck types. Went in today and it was marked down to £2.99. Snapped it up. Will look good with jeans and boots.0

Have you started shopping again, kitschkitty (or have I got you mixed up with someone else)?
I've been looking for a short cardi/shrug in burnt orange for ages but nobody's been kind enough to donate one to the shops I frequent so far. :rotfl:
It was/is me.
I down sized from a 2 bed house to a room in my friends house (been settled in here a month now), but have also lost weight, so I'm buying just a few select items of clothes in the charity shops (and on ebay) at the moment- but it is nice to pop in and have a look around. (I used to buy lots of homewares and bric a brac/collectibles etc - just can't do that any more).
I also sold off a lot of my old clothes so can further justify the few new items I need.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -

Charity shops are brilliant when you're losing weight. As I was going down through the sizes I started using them as I didn't want to pay full price for things that would soon be too big. And I experimented with colour as when I was fat I'd worn too much black. Meant no expensive mistakes. One of our local charity shops was charging rather high prices for its stuff and I passed on a Quicksilver windproof jumper at £5.99. That's great!
We've got a local shop (local charity) that's really good with its prices and routinely reduces anything that hasn't sold after two weeks. I love it there. I go into Cancer shop for birthday cards and just find myself raising eyebrows/shaking head at ridiculous prices they want for Asda/Sainsbury's/Tesco/Matalan/Primark stuff.
Today I bought a small Portmeirion Botanical Garden planter for £1!:)0 -

I loved charity shops too much. Now I try and stay out of town but if I do go in I look for toy Huskies and my little ponies, and clothes for my little one. She loves bridesmaid dresses.0

Not a charity shop bargain but from our local weekly Flea Market:
a Land's End dark brown quilted lightweight knee length coat with a lovely pale pink lining - as new £15.
A bit like this one

Just washed it (without using fabric conditioner) and it looks lovely.
It will be perfect over dresses and T-shirts in Spring/Autumn and if the 100gm polarThin insulation is as good as they say it is, probably great though the winter too.0 -
Donated a box of clothes and 'stuff' at CS this morning and couldn't resist a very pretty water glass and carafe set - looks very vintage/antique - very delicate thin glass (slightly irregular so it could be hand made) with engraved flowers and vines cut into both glass and carafe - £1.50:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls
